PERFECT FOR GROUPS OF YOUNG ADULTS - A BEAUTIFULLY CONVERTED CHAPEL RIGHT BESIDE THE RIVER WYE
Greeted by a huge open plan living space with high ceilings, a great sense of light and space, set in the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons National Park on the doorstep ideal for walking and cycling.
Hay-on-Wye is a few short miles away and we recommend taking the scenic route, via the National Trust Begwns for one of the best views of the Welsh mountains you'll ever see. Or drive up the mountain road towards Hay Bluff - there's often an ice cream van parked on a sunny day in what has to be the most scenic spot in the area, so it's worth a trip for the view alone. Hay-on-Wye is just 5 miles along the road. There is plenty to do in the area including canoeing and kayaking which are available to rent throughout the season (April-October). Leisure facilities: bike and Vespa hire available to rent from the owner. Play facilities: table tennis area, private use after 6pm.
The accommodation offers ONE bedroom: super-king-size (which can be made into a twin on request) and a sleeping area with 12 single pod bunks. There are 3 shower rooms each with shower and WC. Lounge: open-plan with wood burner and TV. Kitchen/diner: with electric oven and hob. Outside: with terrace. Amenities: parking. Bed linen, electric, central heating and Wi-Fi included. Regret no smoking. Regret no pets. Additional info: Children are welcome, however the bunkhouse is very much designed for grownups and teens, if you would like to stay with kids, please do just call and we'd be happy to discuss the layout in detail with you and help you decide if it's the right place for your group. Meals can be pre-ordered and delivered throughout your stay, direct with the owner. Location: pub and shop within walking distance. Arrival: 4pm.
SLEEPING 10 - 14: Five star graded by Visit Wales, there are twelve dorm style bunks, plus a king-size bedroom (as GQ magazine quoted....perfect for passed out Stags!). Each with fresh cotton sheets, charging points and reading lights, and well designed to ensure as much privacy as possible.
RELAXING: Large open plan living space, with huge sofa and wood burning stove. An alternative to the stairs, why not try the slide....so heaps of fun to be had! There is a sound system, good mobile coverage and wi-fi available too.
DINING: Fully equipped kitchen and dining space as part of the open plan living room, meals can be pre-ordered and delivered throughout your stay, or nip next door to the great restaurant and enjoy great views over the river, as well as a very decent meal! Nibbles and supper can be arranged on arrival. The bunkhouse can also offer breakfast each morning, simply order upon check-in.

Located in the picturesque village of Glasbury, you'll find a handful of country pubs on your very doorstep, perfect for a pint of local ale after a long day of activities. As the property is on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, you'll not be short of thrilling activities to fill up your long weekend away. Just 1.5 miles away is a popular Brecon Beacons activity centre, where you can try abseiling, mountaineering, gorge walking, kayaking and so much more, and it can be tailored to suit your level of expertise. For a truly thrilling adventure, enjoy the Brecon Beacon's many dark and dramatic caves to tour an underground world formed over three million years ago. For those less enamoured by the subterranean, enjoy a scenic 11-mile walk through the National Park, heading to Waun Fach. Making up part of the cluster of Black Mountains, Waun Fach is the highest of these at 2661 feet and therefore provides remarkable views of the Welsh valleys. Once you've worn out the great outdoors, the nearby town of Hay-on-Wye (4 miles) offers a host of restaurants and pubs for you to enjoy.
