Plan a group holiday in the West Country
Cornwall is synonymous with beach holidays, and there’s no question that its vast choice of bays and coves from the north to south coast is reason enough to visit. Exhibiting some of the most beautiful stretches of the South West Coast Path, it’s a haven for walkers, while inland, the Camel Trail traces a scenic, 18-mile path through the countryside. There's so much to see and do in Cornwall, let us get you started with our things to do guide.
Neighbouring Devon offers two coasts, the north coast boasting popular surf beaches including Croyde, Woolacombe and Putsborough, whilst the south coast is peppered with more traditional seaside resorts and elegant towns. The coast path meanders along both shorelines, including part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site which continues across the border to Dorset. The wild and rugged moorland of Devon’s two moors, Dartmoor and Exmoor, with their chocolate-box villages, granite outcrops and wild ponies are ripe for exploring. Start planning a group holiday in Devon with our activities guide.
North of Devon is Somerset, a varied county where the flat plains of the Somerset Levels contrast with the undulating countryside of the Mendip Hills, and the striking geography of Cheddar Gorge. On the coast, the seaside resorts of Weston-super-Mare and Minehead are perfect for bucket and spade days, and inland market towns and attractive cities such as Wells, Bristol, Bath and Glastonbury make for great days out.
Next to Somerset and joining on to Devon is Dorset, whose incredible stretch of Jurassic Coast has been favoured by the makers of Broadchurch and hit film Dunkirk. Admire awe-inspiring geographical wonders such as Durdle Door and West Bay, search for fossils at Lyme Regis and Bridport and sunbathe on the golden sands of Bournemouth. Perfect for large groups, see our guide to Dorset activities.
