Just 3 miles from Parracombe with its welcoming community and great local pub, this charming home has plenty to keep guests of all ages entertained. From getting competitive in the games room to relaxing in the sauna, spend sociable nights catching up before relaxing by the wood burner. Sleeping 12 guests over six bedrooms, this bolthole is perfect for families with a separate annexe for two if you fancy a quieter evening after the day’s adventures.

 

Sitting on a 10,000-acre working farm at the end of a private lane, this detached farmhouse exudes country style to make you feel at home. Getting dry and snug post-adventure is an easy task thanks to the handy boot room where you can throw off muddy clothes and leave boots behind. Both the lounge with its roaring wood burner and the brilliantly spacious kitchen/diner are wonderful spaces to gather, boasting charm and character. Slow cook meals on the oil-fired AGA before plating up at the dining table which seats 12 or taking your plates outside for a BBQ supper. After dinner, spend time relaxing in the hot tub and sauna whilst little ones play to their heart’s content on the lawn, or challenge yourself to a game of tennis. Beat fellow guests in a game of pool before emerging victorious and celebrating with a good night’s sleep in one of six tranquil bedrooms. Calming hues, neutral tones and gorgeous artwork help whisk you off to dream and wherever you doze off, you’ll wake to views of Exmoor. The annexe is home to one of the bedrooms and has a second kitchen/diner, utility room and lounge behind its own front door – perfect for quieter guests or grandparents. Take care of the steps that lead into one of the family bathrooms on the first floor. There is ample off-road parking.

A truly wonderful bolthole for those with a passion for exploring, take to paths and trails from your doorstep to stretch your legs. The magical moors are teeming with wildlife, flowers and scenic spots so whatever direction you find yourself heading, you’ll enjoy a fabulous walk. Venture into the heart of the National Park and ascend Dunkery Beacon (21.5 miles) for panoramic views and a peak-top picnic or stay closer to home and visit Lynton and Lynmouth (5 miles) where you’ll come across the famous funicular railway. Take to the South West Coast Path and trek past Woody Bay where you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the tidal Victorian bathing pool or continue on to Heddon’s Mouth and dip where the stream joins the sea.

This is a great house! Lovely & big with an enormous kitchen diner, with an aga and an electric oven for those not confident with the aga. We used the bbq a lot though which was a great option. The beds were comfy, & the bathrooms all beautifully finished with ample hot water. The garden was beautiful, but if you take your dog it can escape from itRead more so beware. There was a beautiful walk to the lake beyond the garden. The recliner sofas were great for relaxing in the evening with the log fire. Hide
