Set amongst six stunning acres of landscaped gardens and outdoor space, this majestic hall and additional coach house (which sleeps two) couldn't be more suitable for a group of 18 guests holidaying together. Perfect for celebratory occasions, the main house is complete with a delightfully decadent super-king-size bedroom with a private balcony and roll-top copper bath, the perfect bedroom choice for any guest of honour! Comfort is assured in each and every additional bedroom, of course, with soft and comfortable mattresses, fresh linen and ever-changing views to wake up to each and every morning.

Always offering plenty in way of entertainment, the owners have taken good care to ensure that visitors of any age will find something to keep them happy right here. Younger guests will be keen to make themselves at home in the ground floor snug/games room, complete with a wood burner and a whole host of toys, pool table and TV/DVD to keep everyone busy. The adults of the group will find solace with time spent in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner and additional conservatory. Whether you’re enjoying a bottle of wine with the far-reaching view ahead of you or sinking into cushy sofas with the wood burner blazing, this room is tailor made for chilling out. Any keen chef will be keen to switch on the Sonos Soundsystem and get to work in the contemporary kitchen, perhaps even helping themselves to produce from the veg and herb gardens outside. After a grand meal enjoyed together at the dining table, 16 guests can trot off to bed right here in the hall whilst two additional guests can break away and enjoy a touch of privacy in the well-appointed coach house accommodation.

The coastline with the Solway Coast AONB is just 9 miles from home, perfect for those who admire dramatic seascapes and rugged coastal walking routes when adventuring outdoors. Those who prefer hiking mountains and boat trips on calm lakes will no doubt be eager to set off and discover the Lake District National Park (4 miles), embracing fun-filled afternoons hiking fells together. Set off and find Bassenthwaite Lake (7 miles) close by, accompanied by the fantastic Whinlatter Forest (9 miles) with its thrilling Go Ape centre and an abundance of routes for walking or mountain biking. Or perhaps enjoy a relaxed drive to the cultural hub of Keswick (14 miles), a place where restaurants and independent shops meet a family-owned cinema and stunning Theatre by the Lake.

We rented the house for a birthday celebration and it was perfect. The large room downstairs with the amazing dining table, adjoining kitchen and lounge was fantastic. The pool table/tv room was a great addition.

This is a fantastic property that was ideal for our multi generation family holiday. We loved the way that the living rooms flowed together, culminating in the fantastic views of the lakes. The gardens are wonderful, we loved exploring them.

A great property for a large party and plenty of space to move around without falling over each other. Kids well provided with toys/games etc Stunning views . Good access to most parts of the northern/western lakes . Good facilities in Cockermouth.

Our whole party said many times they all had the best weekend of their lives. The views, the house, the whole grounds just made everyone smile and very sad to leave. Couldnt think of a better place to visit in this country for an escape from busy lives. We will definitely be visiting again very soon. Wood Hall was the perfect location for us to celebrate our Grandma's 80th birthday. The house itself is stunning, spacious and has everything you need to relax. The views are stunning and the area friendly. Thank you for a wonderful few nights away. We loved it and would come back again.

The house is very spacious, warm and comfortable, clean but not pristine - thats ok though when they accept dogs. The kitchen is well appointed. The master bedroom has a view to die for (and a fairly firm bed). Didnt find any board games for the wet days, but the pool table was well used.

Wood Hall is OUTSTANDING! Booked it for a hen weekend and it was everything we dreamed of and more. EVERYTHING has been thought of and done with such good taste and a really luxurious feel. The grounds are stunning and the house is equipped to the highest standard.
