This remarkable property, which is situated close to Brixham’s town centre, has been fitted and furnished to a delightful standard throughout, offering the perfect bolthole for a family retreat.

This charming cottage set in the heart of pretty Brixham offers the perfect seaside break for a family or group of friends and is just a short walk from the town’s shops, bars, restaurants and bustling harbour. With four bedrooms sleeping a maximum of eight guests, an airy lounge/dining room, a dining kitchen and a games room, it offers plenty of nooks and crannies for everyone to spread out. Within easy reach of both the golden sands of Paignton and the charms of historic Dartmouth, there is plenty to see and do in the area to suit all tastes.

 

This beautifully furnished cottage is surprisingly spacious inside. With its charming whitewashed brick walls, wood burner and stripped wooden floor, it is full of character. The cosy lounge, decorated in restful neutrals, is a lovely spot for relaxing after a day out exploring and leads through to the elegant dining room – perfect for a celebratory meal together. The immaculate kitchen with its terracotta floor is a lovely spot for socialising, with its cosy kitchen table and doors opening into the quirky, sheltered courtyard. Perfect for a leisurely breakfast or morning coffee, or a chilled glass of wine on a warm evening to the sound of the wheeling seagulls. Younger visitors are well-catered for with a games room and the den-style top floor attic room. Sleeping three, it has been decorated in bright funky colours and is complete with bean bags and a Smart TV. Outside, the split-level garden is a delight. Enjoy a BBQ in the unique, private courtyard, surrounded by ancient protective walls, before heading up the steep steps to sit and enjoy the sea air on comfortable garden seating in the shelter of a natural cliff.

  • Brixham is a busy fishing village situated on a very steep hill, so access to some parts of the village can be challenging.
  • Many of the amenities and cottages in Brixham are accessed via steps some of which can be steep.

Brixham is a bustling little town and home to one of the UK’s largest fishing fleets. Take time to explore the harbour, with its mix of fishing vessels, day trip boats and private yachts before stepping aboard the replica of the Golden Hind. On warm days, take a dip in Brixham’s outdoor seawater pool or head to Paignton (6 miles), perfect for families with its stretch of golden sand, where you can watch the steam trains that regularly depart Paignton Station for Kingswear. Pay a visit to beautiful Dartmouth (6 miles) where you can take a river cruise up the picturesque River Dart. For those seeking more adventurous activities, there are opportunities for paddleboarding, kayaking and sailing, as well as stunning walks along the spectacular South West Coast Path, and mountain biking and climbing in spectacular Dartmoor National Park (18 miles).

Lovely property in a lovely location, close enough to walk to and from town, albeit some steep steps or incline needed, but no noise at nighttime other than the gulls! Has one large full bathroom which could be tricky with larger groups but there is a separate toilet, we made it work with seven of us as three were older teenagers who sleep till lunRead morechtime. Has a garage for parking, very useful, plus position of house means there is street parking very nearby for another car. A lovely week away. Hide

What an absolutely stunning and cosy house. Completely home from home. All facilities you could think of. Close to local amenities. Garage is an absolute bonus as parking is restricted close by but ample of parking in the town centre payable car parks. Bigger than you think. Truly fabulous for a large family holiday. Faultless. Lovely house in a great location. Bottle of fizz on arrival was much appreciated and the house has a garage which is a real plus as parking would be difficult otherwise. Excellent,beautifully decorated house in a good ,quiet location.The town ,with all amenities ,is a 5 minute walk.The garage parking for a medium sized car is ideal ,as parking nearby is difficult.

Excellent position but beware the steep steps and paths down to town. Due to covid we did plenty of walking, again great base for this. Slightly dark downstairs but light and airy upstairs.

Lovely, spacious cottage in Central Brixham. Vehicle access is via a steep road so be prepared to give way on some very narrow streets. The garage is priceless as street parking is very tight and not abundant. The cottage is a five minute walk to the harbour - the location is perfect. Wonderful property in a superb location with everything you could ask for. Very comfortable with great facilities for kids. Plenty of room for 8 and so great that it accepts dogs.
