A trip to one of the many market towns is a must where you can pick up local produce from a farmers market or browse the independent shops, Hay-on-Wye is famed for books and the annual international literary festival and the market towns of Monmouth, Ledbury, Ross-on-Wye, Ludlow, Kington and Leominster all welcome you with an eclectic range of independent shops. Or step back in time and visit one of the many castles or historic monuments that are dotted across this border country. Nearby are opportunities for hobbies such as fishing.

This is THE destination for your rural idyllic break where you can enjoy elegantly styled, contemporary and spacious accommodation all set in a peaceful, highly private spot with far reaching views.

Take in the views as you turn onto the wide, sweeping gravelled driveway and meticulously maintained half acre of landscaped, private grounds which adjoin open fields that lead up to the Black Mountains. A grand canopy porch leads into the galleried reception hall; once you have settled in you will be able to relax and enjoy pre-dinner drinks from the bar. The fabulously bright and airy kitchen /dining room is a haven for the best of chefs with a contemporary styled kitchen offering a gas Rangemaster oven, American fridge freezer with chilled water and ice maker, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine and professional juicer. A central table and chairs for four is the perfect stop for afternoon tea with the papers or for children’s snacks. The dining area has views on three sides across the countryside with a table to seat 10. The utility room has a cordless Dyson and space for dogs, coats and boots. There is also a WC. The drawing room is a huge and sumptuous space where you can relax in pure style, light the wood burner and catch up with friends. Both main reception rooms have 55’ or 65” Ultra HD Smart TV with sound bar and Blu-ray where you can relax and make use of the Sky+ package including sports, cinema, kids Disney+ and Netflix. For fun the games room has been finished with quirky pieces and a welcoming style, perfect to bring out your competitive side and set up a pool tournament, there is also a selection of board games. A study is ideal if you need to work whilst away and holds a wide-ranging selection of books for both adults and children.

For fitness there is a private gym set up adjoining the carport for you to enjoy a workout before breakfast with weight bench and bar, bike, bands and more. When the day is done climb the stairs onto the spacious mezzanine landing where you will find several cosy seating areas, ideal for you and your favourite book. There are five bedrooms all finished with crisp bed linen, cosy throws and fresh towels. The super-king-size main bedroom has a Juliet balcony with a picture window offering the most stunning views, this room has a large en-suite with separate shower, free standing bath, double vanity units and WC. There are two king-size rooms each with deep window seats to enjoy the view, and one has an en-suite shower and WC. At either end of the home are two versatile rooms which can each be set up either as super-king or twin rooms. There is also a bathroom with separate shower, bath and WC and a further shower room with WC on this floor.

The beautifully kept gardens are enclosed by estate railings and double gates. There are super views across the open fields and onto the Black Mountains, there is a large, private hot tub set to the side where you can enjoy catching up with everyone under the stars. A phenomenal variety of birdsong can be heard when you are outdoors and even when you are inside with a window open. A patio area is set up with table and chairs for summer dining with a large parasol, a BBQ and garden games. There is ample parking to the front with a large turning circle along with a secure rack for bikes and double carport which includes a covered table tennis table.

The house met and exceeded expectations. We were one family but with 4 adult children plus partners the space was ideal. The kitchen was well equipped and made it easy all round. The wet room for the dog was perfect especially as the weather wasnt great. Would I go back- yes absolutely. Would I recommend - yes absolutely. From booking to leaving the property everything was flawless brilliant communication and information from owner. The house was spotlessly clean and homely. The owner decorated the house early for Christmas for us which was tasteful and elegant and very much appreciated. The house had everything and more you could ask for.

The cottage was impressive. It was surrounded by scenic countryside. It was spacious ,especially suited for ten adults.It was very well equipped for all sorts of entertainment .It had all the ingredients required for a relaxing break.There was something for everyone.

The house is extremely spacious and comfortable. The views are amazing. It is very well equipped. The pool table and table tennis were a great hit and we used the hot tub daily. It was great to have a gas barbecue with plenty of outside space for eating. We would definitely revisit!

My family and I stayed for a long weekend in the Lodge. It was a superb property, well equipped and very comfortable. There was lots of space for everyone to chill out, be it playing pool or watching tv. The hot tub was an added bonus especially as we were really lucky with the weather. One of the best places weve ever stayed in. We booked for my mums 70th and were a mix of 10 people ages 2 to 70 and this was absolutely perfect. So much space, and everyone had their own bathroom. Hottub and pool table kept everyone entertained and there were spots for people to have peace and quiet when they needed it, plus lots of storage space aRead morend room for all of us to eat together in the incredible, well-equipped kitchen with views of the surrounding fields, and outside in the sunshine. Stunning home! We were blown away by how beautiful it was. The festive decorations added an extra special touch. The lodge was beautiful, the full WOW factor. Whatever the weather there was enough to cater for everyone's need, from the snooker and table tennis tables to the hot tub!!
