This unique, elegant, georgian country house, with its original foot print dating back to the 16th century, offers a homely atmosphere, ideal for a relaxing getaway for family holidays and celebrations.

This grand historical abode rests in an elevated position with stunning views over the Durham Dales, the River Tees, and rolling countryside for miles. The imposing country retreat accommodates up to twenty guests over nine abundantly proportioned rooms and boasts eight bathrooms as well as a myriad of features and amenities. You will find a truly idyllic base for exploring the nearby picture post card village of Eggleston, the North Pennines and a range of stunning walks, waterfalls, and local attractions.

The sumptuous period stately home is full of old-world charm and character. On entering the hallway, you will discover a plush drawing room where you can collect, tinkle on the piano or relax by a roaring open fire. Enjoy rolling hillside views from the seated sun room or cosy up in a sitting room in front of the Smart TV/DVD and kindle the open fire on cooler nights. Be spoilt for choice of entertainment including the billiards room which includes billiards, table football, surround sound music system and more. Dine in true country manor style in the large dining room with ample seating for 20, at the fine oak refectory table. A large, high specification kitchen has a traditional country house AGA-style and gas and electric ovens, spoiling chefs for choice. A fine rustic table with seating is also in the kitchen, perfect for planning the day over breakfast. Up a beautiful winding staircase, you will find nine gorgeously and individually decorated rooms, all boasting magnificent views. These include four super-king-size rooms, each with either an en-suite shower or bathroom. Four twin rooms follow, and one has an en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Another shower room, two more bathrooms, another double bedroom and a separate WC complete the vast property. Outside, huge landscaped mature gardens provide utopian spots for picnics and al fresco dining. You will be enchanted by the private bridge leading to ancient woodland and riverbank walks. Enjoy a spot of tennis with your fellow guests or other leisurely pursuits such as croquet and boules.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £1,000 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

We have just had a lovely weekend at the Hall with family for a special occasion and we were aged between 2 and 93 and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything is as described and very comfortable. Everyone had very good nights sleep in the comfortable beds. The area were the Hall is situated is beautiful and great to explore. We made use of the grRead moreounds and tennis court and the fabulous games room. I would highly recommend this property for a family or friends gathering Hide
