Located in the centre of the pretty village of Church Knowle with superb views of the Purbeck Hills from the garden, this holiday let has an abundance of character in a great location for both coast and country. The National Trust’s Corfe Castle is just 2 miles away, while Kimmeridge Bay (3.5 miles) is known as the safest snorkelling site in Dorset; if you and the kids like fossil hunting, Worbarrow Bay (5 miles) is the place to go. For sandcastle building visit the sands of Studland Beach (5 miles). Take advantage of the traditional village pub just next door, or head into Wareham (6 miles) for a wider choice of bars and restaurants.

Inside the cottage, a traditional farmhouse style gives the property a welcoming and cosy feel. Stone flooring welcomes you into the hall and the breakfast room, where an ornamental fireplace and pine furniture help you get ready for the day; the kitchen also boasts this wonderful flooring and has everything you need, including a sink, oven, dishwasher and microwave. Retire to the lounge and sink into the sofas in front of the wood burner, relaxing among the exposed beams and soft, cosy decoration. Head through the stable door from the kitchen into the conservatory which acts as a dining room, offering stunning views out into the garden and glimpses of the cottage’s original exterior. Dry your clothes after a beach walk in the drier in the utility room that also includes a WC. Upstairs, all the bedrooms have reduced height at the eaves, so watch your head! On the first floor, two double bedrooms with calming, neutral decor and wood furniture make for a peaceful night’s sleep; one bright and airy bathroom features a shower over the bath and WC while the second bathroom has a shower. Heading up to the second floor via two separate staircases, you’ll find two twin bedrooms with wonderful exposed beams and a Victorian ornamental fireplace in one of the rooms to complement the quirky ceiling and wall shapes.

Leading out to the rear garden from the conservatory, the small patio with garden furniture is a perfect spot to enjoy an al fresco bite to eat overlooking the spectacular Purbeck Hills. The garden is well screened from the pub garden and has a pretty lawn surrounded by trees and shrubs. There is parking directly outside the cottage on the village lane.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £150 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Excellent location in quiet village, great for touring Dorset. Lovely dog proof rear garden, ideal lounge with new carpet and comfortable sofas and chairs. Bedrooms need updating, kitchen equipment needs updating.

The cottage is cosy, warm, well equipped; comfortable, we had a brilliant time. We spent a lot of time in the conservatory, ideal for days when we felt like relaxing at "home"! Well situated for short & longer walks, & pub next door was handy when we didn't feel like cooking. The sounds from the pub were never intrusive! Great location, with easy access to lots of walking trails. But the owners need to allocate more hours to cleaning the property in this COVID age.

We loved our stay. The house had everything we needed for the week and was well stocked with cooking equipment and toys. It was perfectly located to head off on adventures every day with the kids, and the views from the south facing garden were stunning. The cottage was homely and comfortable. When we arrived we were very impressed with the cleanliness and felt confident that the cottage was coronavirus free. We were also impressed with the standaRead morerd of equipment ie. HD tv, excellent shower. However one slight improvement could be made by providing a wall mounted soap dish in the shower. Our stay was peaceful in some of Englands most picturesque countryside

Nice cottage in a convenient location for Corfe Castle and the surrounding area. Good sized rooms and plenty of living space. Decor a little basic/'pine' but doesn't distract too much from a nice place otherwise. Possibly a newer to the rental market and have privately made a few suggestions to the owners.

It's a lovely cottage, in a quiet village but it is still easy to get to the the beaches, Corfe Castle and the towns and shops. It was also a great location for local walks and the garden was big enough for the children to play in.
