Seek adventure in the stunning ‘big tree county’ of Perthshire, encircled by ancient woodland, tumbling hills and stunning loch views as far as the eye can see. Studded within the northern shores of Loch Tummel, this charming property overlooks the expanse of water, offering groups of up to eight guests a cosy base for exploring the surrounding countryside. Return to bask in the late evening sunshine, the sky ablaze with colour as you tuck into a sumptuous al fresco feast prepared on the BBQ. On cold or rainy days, the lull of the woodburner is irresistible with a dram of whisky, snuggling up under a blanket to watch the storm pass. With four bedrooms to choose from and ample space to socialise, it’s an ideal bolthole for large groups.

This traditional cottage enjoys a secluded location and direct access to the shoreline, shared only with the neighbouring castle. Inside, the property has been lovingly refurbished with comfort in mind. The elegant decor features a soft colour pallet, comfortable furniture and homely details such as decadent throws, plump cushions and fluffy towels. The kitchen/dining room is wonderfully quirky with a double-height ceiling and a mezzanine level overlooking the dining area, perfect for family feasts. A games room is available by prior arrangement with activities such as table football, darts, table tennis and pool, or you can retire to the lounge for a movie night, armed with mugs of hot chocolate. The bedrooms are a welcome treat; two of which are located on the ground floor along with a shower room. The first bedroom has a useful en-suite complete with a bath for a relaxing soak. Upstairs, you’ll discover two further bedrooms which share a shower room. Outside, impressive trees border the seemingly endless stretch of garden and there’s plenty of parking for everyone. Fishing on the loch from the shoreline is also available by arrangement. A nearby inn serves delicious food within a 0.5-mile walk, and the nearest shop is within a 3.5-mile drive.

Excellent configuration, very nice renovation, better than excellent position, so beautifully quiet, very easy access to great walks, and to top it off the butchers and the pie shop in Pitlochry are second to none.

We loved our stay - the cottage is in a spectacular location and the cottage is spacious, well equipped and homely. The games room was a hit with the children. The views of Loch Tummel are breathtaking. Lots to do all around. Pitlochry is only a 20 min drive and lots of shops and restaurants. We would happily return.
