Property code: DY009

Set in stunning rural surroundings, this quaint and traditional stone-built farmhouse has been lovingly updated to provide refreshing holiday accommodation for larger families and groups of friends.

Plan an exceptional group holiday and stay at this former farmhouse near Pennal, just over 4 miles from Machynlleth in Wales. Sleeping eight guests, the gorgeous, four-bedroom abode is set within the southern swathes of the Snowdonia National Park and is in a simply idyllic setting for anyone who enjoys getting out and about in the great outdoors. Find fabulous footpaths to follow, head out together to beauty spots and family attractions in the area and have days out on the sandy beach at Aberdyfi, 6.5 miles away, which is right beside beautiful Cardigan Bay. Return to the stone holiday home to soak up the amazing views out in the garden, or to unwind next to a glowing wood burner with your family or friends.

Step into this beautiful character home to immerse yourselves in its inviting ambience and to enjoy the sense of comfort and welcome it offers. Make your way into the country-style kitchen/diner to prepare dinner with the delicious Welsh produce you have shopped for. Sit at the kitchen table with a cup of tea and chat to members of your party as the meal cooks then lay the table through in the dining room. There is a utility room, with a handy washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also room in here to keep bicycles and other outdoor gear, and for the table football and electronic dartboard that younger guests should appreciate. After dinner, gather in the lounge around the crackling wood burner to watch a film on the TV or via the DVD player. There is also a family bathroom, with underfloor heating, on this floor. Climb the stairs at the end of each fabulous, fun-filled day to lay your head in one of the comfortable bedrooms. These include a twin room, two doubles and a bunk bedroom. A family shower room is also at this level. Wander out into the garden, which is steep in places, to enjoy some fresh air and sunshine. Light the BBQ to sizzle supper alfresco and the chiminea if you plan to sit out under the stars. Keep an eye on pets and children due to livestock. Find parking for three cars at the property.

... This was a great fit for our group. We were impressed by the layout, furniture, fireplaces, authentic decor, well equipped kitchen. Utility room was very useful. Outside space and views spectacular. Good location to access the many local and more distant attractions and Snowdonia national park. For a day out we would recommend visiting MachynllRead moreeth and the coastal train which goes as far north as Pwllheli. The beach at Aberdovey for crabbing and watersports, and Tywyn for swimming. Everything about the cottage, garden, and location were amazing. One of the reasons we stayed at this cottage was that the dyfi osprey nest was just across the river which we could see with binoculars and scope. The birds and other wildlife was just a joy to watch including a polecat, red kites, dragonflies the list is endless. The cottage was so wRead moreell equipped with everything you could need or want. It was so peaceful and relaxing we could have stayed there forever. Would highly recommend Hide
