Here comes the sun! Though rainclouds haven’t disappeared entirely and the wind still does its best to mess up your shiny summer hair cut, the fact remains: June is upon us! That means beach days, park picnics and sea splashing at every opportunity, even if your umbrella does have to remain a back pocket staple just in case. With sunglasses on and factor 30 slathered, what could be better than a dreamy beach day with friends to soak up the warmth of sun-bleached sand with cocktail in-hand?
To celebrate the (albeit pretty begrudging) arrival of summer sunshine, we have created a simple beach-based brainteaser that’s actually far harder than it looks.
Let’s set the scene: The summer hols are beckoning, so Lucy takes her friend Zaynab down to the seaside for a typical beach day out. They decide to buy an inflatable ball and play some catch on the sand, but as Lucy is handing over the coins to Derek the salesman, the back doors of his van burst open and a thousand beach balls explode across the beach.
The girls can’t stop laughing…until Lucy remembers something; she’s planned a surprise hot air balloon ride, but the beach is so smothered in colourful beach balls, the balloon is nowhere in sight!
How quickly can you spot the hot air balloon floating behind the tidal wave of beach balls? The average person needs 1 minute 14 seconds to spot it. Reckon you can beat that? Give it a go! Focus your eyes and get searching, you might find you can spy it far faster than you think…
