Stroll down to the water’s edge to see if you can spot seals, porpoises and even dolphins.

Simply relax in your incredible lounge and take in the magical views across the sea loch. Watch TV or a DVD and light the woodburner on chilly evenings. Pull the glass doors open on pleasant days to bring the outside right into your holiday home. Prepare food for your party in your stylish kitchen/diner and then gather everyone around the long table. Find a laundry room and WC also at this level, as well as two of your inviting bedrooms and a chic family bathroom; one of these bedrooms also has an en-suite shower room. Make your way up to the first-floor mezzanine area and a bedroom with en-suite bathroom and dressing room. Pause for a while to take in the view from the galleried landing. Stroll down to the beautiful and peaceful shoreline where you will find a long shingle and sand beach with an abundance of shells and discover the amazing wildlife that thrives in and around this beautiful sea loch. Seals, porpoises and dolphins can all be spotted, as well a large variety of sea and coastal birds including magnificent white-tailed eagles. Port Appin, with its award-winning seafood restaurant and renowned hotel, can also be reached by walking along the shoreline. There are regular passenger ferries from the village to the Island of Lismore and the cycle track from Glencoe to Oban can be reached by crossing the nearby impressive Jubilee Footbridge and boardwalk over the tidal marshes.

Argyll is one of the most romantic areas of Scotland, famous for its spectacular castles, coast and wildlife. Dreamy highland views of glens, rugged mountains and lochs can all be enjoyed from this secluded and tranquil location and there are endless day trips and outdoor opportunities all within easy reach.

The Shell is a truly stunning house. The level of luxury is incredible as was the attention to detail in every respect. The range of equipment was second to none. Marvelous location and the grandchildren loved the space and the access to the shoreline. The views out of the huge window were simply stunning. We did not want to leave. We had a wonderful week as a group if 10 old friends. The house has stunning views, is in walking distance of the Pier house hotel which has a comfy bar and delicious although pricey food. The house itself is warm and comfortable and easy to be in. We could easily get to stunning walking in the Glen Coe area and more local walks from the door or a Read moreshort drive away e.g Sutherland Groves Forest park. This was a holiday for a group of 6, mixture of ages. For some it was their first holiday, for others the first in over 10 years. I can hand on heart say it was idyllic, we were blessed with the most amazing weather, (1st week of June 2023) so gloriously sunny every day. It was our first time staying at The Shell but it definitely won't be our last, what an amazing property! It has everything you could possibly need whilst on holiday and the location is absolutely stunning. Nice coastal walk into the village and lovely restaurant just a short stroll away. This place is a little gem!

The Shell is a superb house in a wonderful location with views across Loch Linnhe to the mountains beyond. We found it ideal for our group of 10 active senior citizens with good coastal walks from the doorstep and easy access to excellent cycling both on the nearby NCR 78 and on the Island of Lismore which is reached by a short ferry ride from PortRead more Appin. The house is in a good location for discovering the local area by bike or on foot. It is near a National Cycle Route and the passenger ferry to Lismore both of which offer plenty of opportunities for safe exploration. The view from the sitting room is stunning.

A lovely, quiet location with amazing views. The house is beautiful and well maintained. The photos really do not do it justice. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking for a large group and it was very useful to have two large fridge freezers.

Hidden at the back of an amazing lane, there it was... The Shell! There really were no words to describe the view from the house and garden. As a hobby-cook, I can tell you, this kitchen has all and more to prepare a great meal for a small army :-) The beds are amazing, the local soap in the bathrooms a treat! This is my happy place. Our third visit did not disappoint. The weather meant that we spent a lot of time outdoors. My husband and family went fishing, diving for scallops (a bumper crop), while I whiled away many peaceful hours beachcombing, reading or drawing the spectacular scenary from the amazing glass front. The Shell is in a quiet location at the end of quite a long drive. We were pleasantly surprised how long the building was. While the rest lived up to the site photos. The sunsets were amazing from the window with a view of the castle in the distance. From the lawn. We found everything catered for and attention to detail exceptional. The Shell combines the comforts of a lovely home with interesting architecture and spectacular views! Spacious bedrooms, very comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. A cooks kitchen which is a great social space too. Wet weather meant we didn't use the lovely garden much, but we walked the beach to The Pierhouse for cocktails - rocky and difficult sRead morealt marsh terrain in places, sturdy walking boots & poles recommended. Beautiful house in a superb location! We are a family of 6 from 3 houses and we still had our own space and privacy, very limited WiFi which we loved!! Gets everyone off the technology and talking and enjoying the outdoor space. Would definitely recommend staying at the shell

Beautiful property in a beautiful location with plenty of space inside and out. Bedrooms are nicely spaced out and plenty of bathrooms though we had to put the smaller of our group upstairs as the ceiling were quite low up there. Wonderful presentation and made to feel welcome. Would return in a jiffy.
