Walking, hiking and mountain biking are the most popular pastimes in the western Highlands, and an abundance of mountains and hills are nearby for you to summit. Enjoy far reaching views from the top of Rois-Bheinn, a mountain you can access within 1.5 miles of the house. Many choose to explore the nearby An Stac (2 miles) alongside Rois-Bheinn. Those who prefer the calmer sport of golf can head 14 miles north to Arisaig for a popular course.

The Highlands offers plenty of options for keen fishermen, and you can fish for salmon, sea trout and brown trout in the nearby lochs and waters. Head to Loch Eilt (6 miles) for an enjoyable day out on the water. You can also retreat into the woodlands to track exciting wildlife such as red and roe deer, grouse and wildfowl. Head to the nearby Loch Ailort (1 mile), a sea loch, to spot seals and even the odd whale!

Take a trip to the closest built-up area of Fort William, a picturesque town that sits at the base of the towering Ben Nevis (31 miles). Here you'll find a selection of charming waterside pubs and eateries, a museum dedicated to the history and culture of the West Highlands and even a popular distillery for whisky tours.

On the positive we appreciated the books/ maps provided and had a great time exploring the local area. We didn't have to travel far to experience the marvels of the local area. We thought the upstairs was in good order but felt the living room (peeling wallpaper) and others areas as indicated above could be improved. However we did enjoy our time aRead moret this property and would recommend but would stress to friends that it looks a little tired in places Hide
