Situated in a tranquil location in the Yorkshire Dales National Park with quick and convenient access to the Lake District, a few miles from the ancient town of Kirkby Lonsdale and Kendal, the gateway to the lakes, with wonderful farm shops close by where you can try out local produce. Take a drive into the Lake District and appreciate the views on offer, the Howgills, Wainwrights favourite walking area is just a short drive away or take a leisurely trip into the Dales. Visit Devil's bridge a famous local landmark and historic walking area and take a leisurely stroll down by the river to the famous Ruskin’s view. Wherever you explore you will not be disappointed, perfect for reunions, celebrations, walking, cycling, touring or just simply relaxing.

Enter via the porch directly into a spacious hallway where a large staircase welcomes you. From here you move into one of the two lounge areas. The main lounge with large sofas, snuggler armchair and casual seating options, a wood burner and TV/DVD. There is a second lounge, where you can relax on the sofa or comfy chairs and enjoy the warmth of the open fire, here you will be truly cosy and can enjoy watching the TV/DVD or have quality time to catch up with family and friends. There is a selection of books and games available to enjoy. Also, from the hallway is the large dining room which comfortably seats ten, with large doors opening to the main lounge area and to the large conservatory, another wonderful place to relax with level access to the garden and patio areas. From the dining area you also have access to the kitchen which is well-equipped with two electric ovens and an induction hob, combination microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Leading from the hallway you have a rear hallway, with private, level access to a ground floor bedroom with a king-size zip-and-link bed (which can be made up as a twin on request with 2'6" beds) nearby, an external door to a welcoming outside seating area.There is also a level access ground floor shower room with shower and WC, together with a utility room with washer/dryer, additional fridge / freezer and double sink and storage. Returning to the main hallway, heading up the stairs to the first floor on your right you have a super-king size zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made up as a twin on request) with TV. Next door you have another king-size bedroom with TV/DVD and moving on further along the corridor you have another king-size bedroom with TV/DVD. There is a bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC. Finally, you arrive at the master suite, with super-king size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request) with en-suite roll-top air-bath with a hand held shower and WC. All the bedrooms have breath-taking views over the countryside for you to enjoy and DAB radio/Bluetooth speaker.

Moving outside from either the kitchen, conservatory or the main entrance, where you have spacious garden areas with views to natural landscape to explore as well as a seating area for ten, sumptuous Hot Tub, a large charcoal BBQ / outdoor fireplace which makes this the ideal place to rest and enjoy evenings of al fresco dining and the peace and tranquility that this area has to offer. There is ample off-road parking for five cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Absolutely. Three Mile Cottage is lovely and very homely, unlike cottages we have stayed at before that sometimes feel like a 'holiday rental'. The owner has put so much effort into the finishing touches to such high standard that make all the difference. We will definitely be returning.

Three Mile House is perfect for a week away with friends/family. You feel at home as soon as you arrive and when the sun is out the patio area is great. The hot tub is a great addition. Arriving there just after COVID 19 restrictions were eased after 14 weeks was lovely and relaxing around the house was just what we needed !

We booked this holiday cottage for an early family Christmas party. The cottage is stunning. Beautifully decorated. Ideal for our party. It is clean and comfortable with plenty of hot water for baths and showers for ten people. The kitchen is very well equipped. There are a couple of good walks nearby and plenty to do in the area. After a very long tiring drive we were at once cheered up by this absolutely charming house. Every comfort is provided (the beds are heavenly) and our nine family members plus dog were able to spread out and relax. Our Sainsburys home delivery arrived just as we did. Our host came to check we'd all settled in ok and was very helpful. The tranquilliRead morety of Killington is wonderful and it's a beautiful part of the Country. We booked this cottage after reading all the positive reviews and I must say, we weren't disappointed at all. The cottage was very clean, well-equipped and spacious. The two downstairs living rooms really enabled the kids to watch TV/play games in one room while the adults carried on with their chats in the other room.
