This grand Georgian property is set in a tranquil location in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is perfect for easy access to the Lake District. This impressive characterful retreat sleeps ten across five plush, feature-filled bedrooms. The beautifully maintained detached house is nestled in pretty stone grounds and attentively detailed outside spaces, featuring all you could need for a special family or group getaway. The flowing yet cosy communal areas of this house provide relaxing places whilst holidaying with family and friends, while the scenic location allows exploration of a wealth of picture postcard villages and the great outdoors.

Two spacious lounges each have large welcoming sofas and TV/DVDs. One lounge features a cosy wood burner and the other an open fire. Families can spend quality time with a selection of books and games available to enjoy. A large dining room with ample seating for ten is the perfect place to enjoy a hearty meal.  Cook up home comforts with two electric ovens in the well-equipped kitchen, making easy work of tidying up with the dishwasher. A rear hallway yields private access to a roomy king-size ground floor bedroom, near an external door to a pleasant outdoor seating area. The dining room opens out to the main lounge and to the bright and airy conservatory, which opens out to the patio and garden, a lovely setting for stargazing or enjoying outdoor drinks.  There is also a modern ground floor shower room. An extra fridge freezer in the handy utility room offers even more convenience. After a long day's fun and adventure, retire upstairs to three more spacious king-size double bedrooms, all with stunning views, TV/DVD and DAB radios. A large family bathroom has a bath, separate shower and WC. A sumptuous master suite provides a touch of luxury with super-king size zip-and-link bed, and an en-suite roll-top air-bath with a handheld shower. The kitchen, conservatory and main entrance all lead to the pleasantly landscaped garden and patio areas with plenty of comfy seating for ten, over more beautiful views. Whilst the property sits within effortless reach of Kendal (7.5 miles) and Kirkby Lonsdale (6.5 miles), its remote location ensures that the peace and tranquillity of the Yorkshire Dales can always be appreciated throughout your stay.

Jump in the car and treat the local town of Settle (24 miles) as your base for adventure when staying here and unlock the many wonders of the Yorkshire Dales. This well-loved and bustling market town is home to lots of lovely cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops. There's also a thriving market held in the town every Tuesday - the perfect place to pick up everything from flowers to dinner that night. If real ale is your thing, there are three fantastic real ale pubs set around the marketplace, so you can choose which one to try each evening!

Just outside of town, you can hop on the Settle to Carlisle railway, one of the most scenic routes in the UK which will take you over the well-known Ribblehead Viaduct (18 miles). Beyond Settle, you have the exquisite delights of the Yorkshire Dales. And, as you would expect, the surrounding countryside here is simply magnificent, perfect if you want to strike out from the cottage in your walking boots or on your bicycle.

The Farmhouse was extremely comfortable, clean and well equipped. Wonderful peaceful location with easy access to many walks and a short drive to Kendal, Sedburgh and Kirby Lonsdale. Superb.

This is a fabulous home from home and my sister and I had a wonderful quiet relaxing week here, despite the rain. The owner is warm and welcoming and couldnt be more helpful. You are a short drive to most places but honestly with such character, charm and views you really dont need to.

I cannot think of anything that needs improving, or would improve the quality of our stay. The accommodation is absolutely fantastic - lovely and warm, extremely comfortable beds and fabulous kitchen with everything you need when cooking for the big family gathering. The house overall was finenot convinced it was worth the money compared to other properties I have rented at same price. Dining room/back bedrooms quite dark would benefit from improved lighting. The cottage was very much appreciated by all our family . The hot tub , conservatory and eating out on the patio with it's revolving table top were especially enjoyed ,. The cottage is quite old and has a very interesting history provided by the owner . It's been tastefully modernised to provide comfortable accommodation . lovely house in great situation - easy access to Dales as well as Lake District. Pleasant local walks along the very quiet roads and footpaths. Comfortable and well-furnished and equipped. Absolutely. Three Mile Cottage is lovely and very homely, unlike cottages we have stayed at before that sometimes feel like a 'holiday rental'. The owner has put so much effort into the finishing touches to such high standard that make all the difference. We will definitely be returning.

Amazing holiday cottage. 3 generations and our dog enjoyed the comfort and space. Loved the hot tub. Had some superb walks in the lakes..Weather was just right.
