Should you want to whet your appetite and enjoy a night off from the kitchen, the neighbouring village of Westleigh is 1.5 miles from home and has a lovely pub with views from high above the estuary. Wind your way down to the coastal village of Instow (3 miles), where a handful of eateries await and where you can tuck into local ice creams with a stupendous view across the water. If you fancy a local night out, hop on the ferry from Instow Quay and journey to Appledore where fish and chips, lively locals and watering holes await. Whether you’re after a family-friendly day by the sea or a fun day with friends, Westward Ho! has a gorgeous stretch of sand with beginner-friendly waves for surfing and a tidal pool for dipping.

A lovely house for a family holiday. Very cosy, and great to have en-suite's in all the bedrooms. The BBQ hut in the garden was a hit with the children.

One of the most warmest and cleanest houses we have stayed in. Lovely spacious rooms and beautiful grounds. Well equipped and comfortable. We all enjoyed the games barn. the barbecue lodge, the sheep and lambs in the field, the bowl of fruit and the delicious cream tea. Owners of the property were friendly and helpful.

Wonderful house for a large family meet-up with lots of room for everyone. Every room has an en-suite except for the downstairs bedroom which has access to the bathroom opposite and, effectively, is for exclusive use. The kitchen is very well equipped and we enjoyed using the range. The garden is extensive and very attractive. We made good use of tRead morehe games barn but think an update wouldn't go amiss. A fab weekend for our family of 9 including our 4 year old Grandson. The house was massive, clean, warm and comfortable. The Games barn and BBQ lodge were great fun. It was well equipped and enjoyed by all.

Beautiful house with lots of indoor and outdoor space. We were a multi generational party and the property was suitable for grandparents as well as young grandchildren. A lovely house in beautiful grounds, excellent for 2 or more families, plenty of space and a good location for exploring North Devon. The beds were comfy, kitchen well equipped, Aga was wonderful and the BBQ hut was great fun, definitely a must if you stay here! A very well appointed and comfortable property in a good rural location. Presented in a spotlessly clean condition and warm in the winter. 12 of us stayed and there was plenty of room. Highly recommended.

My family and myself had a wonderful stay at The Pines to celebrate my special birthday. The Grandchildren adored the games barn where many a competitive game of snooker and table tennis were played! The grounds were very safe for my youngest grandson 19 months to play in. He loved it when the sheep arrived in the orchard. This is an absolutely stunning property, if renting the main house there are six bedrooms all with en-suites and has been recently fully updated.
