This property's location has the best of both worlds: the historical and cultural attractions of a city and the unbeatable natural beauty of the Scottish Highlands, with its range of outdoor activities. The village of Culloden itself is famous for its Battlefield where the Jacobite Rising came to a brutal end in 1745. Now a National Trust attraction, you can find out all about its history. 10 miles away, you can also visit Fort George which was George II's answer to the Jacobite unrest in the form of possibly the mightiest artillery fortification in Europe.

Nearby Inverness is popular because of its cathedral, castle, market, shops and eateries within its compact city centre. Although busy compared to the surrounding countryside, it has a more laid back feel than cities elsewhere.

To the north, Nairn Beach (14 miles) offers miles of golden sand to play in, walk on or admire from the promenade. If you fancy yourself as a myth-buster, head to world famous Loch Ness (17.5 miles) to see if you can catch a glimpse of the supposed monster. To the west of Inverness is the bustling village and beautiful river of Beauly (16 miles), which is a great spot for gentle strolls around the upmarket shops and eateries or some salmon fishing. It is also a popular base for outdoor enthusiasts with some stunning glens and mountains close by including Glen Affric. Whether it's hiking, climbing or cycling, there'll be a route for you to explore.

Pebble Beach is a great property. We throughly enjoyed our week there. It is spacious and well located. It took us a while to get everything going but we really enjoyed the challenge of getting the hot tub temperature right and the barbecue hut. It is well located for exploring parts of the Highlands and especially for golf.

Pebble Cottage offered fantastic accommodation set in an idyllic location looking across the Moray Firth on to the Black Isle. The hot tub and bbq hut made our week more unique and really appealed to the teenagers in our party!

Weve just returned from a very relaxing stay at Pebble cottage. The property was well equipped, cosy yet stylish. We made full use of the wood-fired hot tub, though it took a couple of goes to get the temperature just right, but once we got the knack it was fabulous! The views of the Moray Firth are quite breathtaking and I enjoyed walking the pebblRead moree shoreline when the tide was out, with my dog. The owner was accommodating ( even allowing us to stay bit longer to watch Rugby World Cup Final!) Hide

BBQ shed was perfect and even when the weather wasnt too good it was a great place to sit and eat. The hot tub great to sit and admire the views too.

Great cottage and views. Cottage very peaceful. Beach is for exploring with wellies on not for building sandcastles but good sandy beaches and lots of attractions within 1hr drive and main road close by though can be tricky joining it at peak times

Fabulous location feeling like you are in the middle of nowhere but is actually close enough to shops/restaurants etc. Fantastic sitting in the garden watching the seals play on the beach. Property itself is lovely with loads if space and very well equipped.

We had such a lovely stay at Pebble Beach. There was a heating issue but the owners son was amazing at sorting this out for us, nothing was a problem and he even gave us 2 bottles of wine to say sorry. The property is large and spacious and has stunning views across the Moray Firth to the Kessock Bridge. Large garden and direct access to the stony Read moreshore. Hot tub and BBQ hut were available but unfortunately due to bad weather we didn't get a chance to use. Hide
