A property for entertaining, it sleeps 21 guests across nine bedrooms and comes with an indoor heated swimming pool, games room, outdoor activities, and ‘the Great Room’, a large and light space with sweeping views, perfect for accommodating the entire party. Keen walkers and nature lovers have the adjacent RSPB Scotland Loch Lomond nature reserve to explore, as well as the property’s extensive 98-acre estate. A range of local amenities and services are close at hand, including the shops and restaurants of Balloch (5.5 miles).

The spacious ground floor of the house has numerous rooms where guests can spread out over the course of an evening in. Ample storage space keeps mess to a minimum, and if you’re going for a dip in the pool there is a towel store and showers in the same space for ultimate ease. The well-equipped kitchen, two large sub-zero fridges, and wine fridge are ideal for catering for formal dinners and celebratory parties, and you can all gather round the table in the stylish dining room. Afterwards, relax on a sofa in either the TV room or in front of the woodburner in the pretty conservatory; play a game of pool in the games room; or make a night of it, load up your favourite playlist, and dance the night away in the Great Room. All bedrooms are on the first and second floors, so once you’re ready, climb the stairs to bed. On sunny days, and quiet mornings when children have energy to burn, the garden will go down a treat. Hold BBQs on the terrace and sit out on the lawn with drinks while younger guests run free on the play area. There’s a hard-surface tennis court too, so make sure to organise an afternoon of friendly competition.

Surrounded by acre upon acre of estate hugged by woodland, lochs, canal and SSSI nature reserve, you can wander for hours enjoying the scenery and looking out for the shy, beautiful wildlife who too call the area home. Take little children by the hand and see all there is to discover.

While luxuriating in the gardens and exploring the grounds will be a timeless pastime enjoyed by many, there are also opportunities a-plenty to explore further afield. Just 2 miles away, Buchanan Castle Golf Club invites you to polish your swing and admire the scenery while the abandoned Buchanan Castle itself lies 3 miles away, slowly being overtaken by nature.

For adventurers of all ages, Loch Lomond promises many a happy hour with an array of on-the-water activities, including kayaking and leisure cruises. You can even take a seaplane over the loch to receive a birds-eye-view of the incredible vistas below. If you have brought or hired bikes, there are lots of opportunities for cycling too; a particularly good route takes you around the West Loch Lomond cycle path.

For somewhere to eat or sup a local tipple, there are a huge number of pubs and restaurants within a few miles of the property. 6.5 miles away, Alexandria and Balloch are particular hotspots for eateries and attractions, including the SEA LIFE Loch Lomond Aquarium (6 miles).

The accommodation and facilities (especially the swimming pool) were fantastic to suit eighteen people ranging from five to seventy four. Emily was very helpful and their dog (Charlie) very friendly when visiting.
