We had a wonderful stay over New Year. It really is a special place with beautiful original features and all you need for a comfortable stay for our group of 8 adults, a toddler and a dog. We loved the huge, open fires to keep us cosy with more firewood than youll ever need. It was pretty special to welcome in the new year and mark the houses 400thRead more anniversary! A wonderful character property. Well-furnished and equipped but could do with some comfortable garden chairs/loungers. Everything in kitchen and bathrooms worked well.

Fantastic holiday, beautiful home. We couldnt fault Gilar. The kitchen had everything we needed, the rooms were lovely & comfortable. We walked the dogs for miles in the day & lit the fire in the evenings. We had a picnic at the lake & and climbed Garn Prys from the track from the farm (and Snowdon too). Activities I recommend in the area are ZipwoRead morerld & Adventure Park Snowdonia for adrenaline seekers & Capel Clay in Bala for pottery painting on quieter days. Thanks Gilar, we will be back. This is a great character property and we loved our stay at Gilar House. It is incredibly peaceful and we loved the open fires with plentiful supply of logs, The property is very well equipped and the walks and views straight from the property were great. It is also well placed to access the heart of Snowdonia.

Read moree-font: minor-latin">We stayed in Gilar in Sep 21 and found it full of charm and character in a beautiful location. Unfortunately, we experienced a fly infestation during our stay, but the owners did respond promptly and arranged for a pest control company to come out and fumigate. The house is well located for many of Snowdonia's attractions while being well away from any major settlements so is extremely tranquil and relaxing.
