Located in the centre of Cartmel with its quaint cobbled streets and delightful stream-sidewalks. Cartmel Racecourse is home to the UK’s shortest steeplechase and has a full diary of interesting events when there are no race meetings on. The seaside resort of Grange-over-Sands is a lovely place to spend the day exploring the attractions on the town’s promenade and is only a short drive away as well as Ambleside, Grasmere, Coniston or Ulverston, this is a perfect base to explore some of the hidden treasures of the Lake District.

Once you step inside this property you will see the detail and style the owners have created. The lounge is the hub of the house and is the perfect place to cosy up in front of the wood burner and watch a movie on the Smart TV after a day exploring this spectacular region. You can kick back and relax on either of the four, three or two-seater sofa's and armchair which create a wonderful feel in the room. On the other side of the hall is the grand dining room which is just the ticket for a family meal and creates a buzzing atmosphere around the oak table and still retains the original beams which make this room even more special. Head on down to the kitchen, with all you need to rustle up any type of meal and time of the day with electric range oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine and fridge. Just off the kitchen is the utility room with washing machine and freezer. Up the oak staircase to the first floor there are two king-size bedrooms one with en-suite shower room with shower and WC, a bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC and finally a twin bedroom. Heading up to the second floor you will find a further double and twin bedroom and a bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Outside you will find an enclosed garden with patio area and seating to enjoy those beautiful evenings plus a lawned area for your four legged friends to run wild. Parking in the village square is on a first-come-first-served basis. The easiest place to park is in the village car park, a short walk from the square (charges apply).

What a fantastic cottage and location. Ford House was everything we hoped for and more. We had the most wonderful time. Judy, the owner, even left a sticky toffee pudding for us. Thank you so much for our fantastic weekend.

Lovely house, well equipped, nice dining room and comfortable bedrooms. Garden needed some tlc but that may be due to COVID restrictions. Great location in the heart of the village which is charming and some wonderful walks without needing to use the car.
