Property code: OC-MDH

An unforgettable Grade II-listed property surrounded by stunning countryside, one that is sure to meet the demands of an energetic family who value the time they spent together. Blythburgh, an unspoilt village home to a 15th-century church known as the Cathedral of the Marshes, sits just 1.5 miles from the property, along with Blyth Estuary, where walking trails and wildlife abound. For a family day at the seaside, head to the popular town of Southwold (4 miles) or for something a little quieter, the coastal village of Walberswick (3 miles).

Flanked by properties of equal splendour, this three-storey house has been sympathetically decorated to blend the traditional with the contemporary. On the ground floor, the fresh, homely sitting room contains access to the rear garden, while natural light pours onto the table in the dining room. No room is immune from the alluring aromas that will waft out from the nearby kitchen. Three bedrooms - an en-suite super-king-size, a double and a twin - and a family bathroom occupy the first floor, while an en-suite king-size room dominates the second floor.

Out in the enclosed garden, guests can take in panoramic views from the garden furniture on the patio, or watch as others play on the lawned area just below.

A lovely, well decorated and comfortable property, probably the best of the four I have stayed in at Blyth View. Great views from the rear and in an excellent location for visiting local attractions, very handy for Minsmere, Hen Reed Beds and Southwold. Four excellent bedrooms, no one would feel short changed though the creaky floors might inhibit Read morenocturnal wanderings. Downstairs, a very large separate kitchen, the dining room with seating area can be shut off from the lounge. This is an excellent property for a large party. For us oldies, the ability to tweak the heating is a real advantage. We did have an issue with the property but the local support team arrived the same day (a Bank Holiday) to resolve, customer support was excellent. Hide

Comfortable modern house with great views, very well equiped and plenty of nice touches such as ornaments and pictures. Loads of games and things for the younger ones and excellent wifi connectivity. Great swimming pool and decent little gym together with a games room. All had to be booked in advance but this didn't cause any problems.

The cottage was presented beautifully, and perfect for our stay. It was set in a remote and picturesque location, great for views and a walk. To visit any of the local seaside resorts and quaint villages, it is necessary to have your own transport.

We've visited before and love the cottage and location but we noticed the level of service with holidaycottages.com was not as good as our last visit when Suffolk Secrets operated independently. This time there was no welcome hamper, there was no ability to convert the king bed into a twin (this was possible at short notice last time but this time Read moreit was very hard to talk to customer services and they were very dismissive when I was in touch). A positive note was that when I phoned at 9am one morning about the broken dishwasher, they did send someone to fix it the same day at 5pm. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. Apologies for falling short on our service levels. We have taken your experience on board and have reviewed and fed this back to the relevant teams. Hide

The house was perfect for my family. It was large enough to give us space when we were 'at home'. The gym, pool & facilities and biard games were a bonus esp as we had miserable weather. We were in a good spot to visit other pkaces.
