This lavish property within a prestigious country house offers indulgent accommodation for a large group of friends or family. It’s in Scalby, a quiet and pretty village with a beck running through. You’ll be 3 miles from Scarborough, a popular seaside resort, and on the border of the North York Moors which offers many walking and cycle trails. The port town of Whitby (18 miles) is well worth the trip.

The rooms of this gorgeous holiday home are large and opulently decorated, starting with the lounge with its leather chesterfield sofas, panelled ceiling and window arches. This space is perfect for relaxing in the evenings, with a Smart TV, desk and impressive wooden fireplace housing a warmth-providing electric fire. The dining room is equally appealing thanks to its feature mirrored wall. This leads through to the spacious stone-tiled-floor kitchen, with high-quality appliances, a large island and a breakfast table which offers lovely views through the French windows. A full-size snooker table, a wood burner and comfy seating await in the games room – great for family tournaments. There’s also a shower/utility room on the ground floor, featuring a rainfall shower, Belfast sink, washing machine and dryer. The first floor is reached via stairs in the dining room. Here you’ll find two king-size bedrooms plus the family bathroom – featuring a free-standing tub – and a separate WC. The master bedroom features a large bay window with a luxurious daybed for when you fancy some afternoon lounging. Head up another flight of stairs to reach two more rooms – a twin and a king-size – plus a second shower room. All the bedrooms are painted in vibrant colours with tasteful decorative touches and carefully chosen furniture for a welcoming feel.

The fenced enclosed garden is a lovely place to kick back, either with a soak in the hot tub ( Please note the hot tub is not to be used after 10pm.) or enjoying a quiet drink on the cosy sofas. There’s a huge lawn and a BBQ for cooking up al fresco feasts.

Excellent stay, everything you could need, plenty of room and snooker table went down a treat with all. Location great, 10mins drive into Scarborough and nice stroll into local village where there are two pubs. Local supermarkets near by. Will definitely be returning.

The hot tub and full size snooker table provided lots of entertainment. The living room was comfy, the bedrooms well decorated and in the main, very spacious. The bannister up to the first floor seemed a little loose. But that was not really an issue. Its a very impressive place to stay. Great value for money. A nice touch to leave us a basket of bRead moreiscuits and snacks as well as some prosecco. The heating was very effective and the place was warm and cosy all the while being quite grand in size. We had an absolutely fantastic stay in mid-November. It was a perfect base for several walks and hikes along the coast and around the area. We also specifically chose it for the snooker table to relax in the evenings with a few frames and indeed the snooker table and room was fantastic. Kitchen was great with a large range cooker allowing us to cooRead morek lovely meals and the dining room and living room were great spaces too. Bedrooms all comfortable and clean and the bathrooms all as described. The hot tub is starting to age and isn't the most powerful but was perfectly maintained and clean and still a lovely temperature for a relaxing dip. The property is ajoined to the one next door with shared parking/driveway so there will but others around either renting or working but it was mostly non-intrusive. Would highly recommend a stay here for any group. Hide

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here over half term for a 40th family birthday celebration. The house was everything we wanted in terms of design, space and location. All the rooms were comfy and well equipped. Exactly like the photos show, which is not always the case in other places we have stayed. The snooker room was brilliant and we had maRead moreny evenings (and days!) playing games between us. The hot tub was also a lovely addition and well worth paying the extra for. The house is situated in a lovely position in the village and we enjoyed walking the surrounding area and having drinks in the local pubs. We didn't eat on the village but we did try Askims in Scarborough and that is well worth a visit, beautiful Turkish food. We had one issue when staying that the showers weren't draining water. However the owner soon fixed this for us and it wasn't an issue again. We also had neighbours in the adjoining property and we heard no noise at all. Overall we had a fabulous stay so thank you Tim and family for a great stay and all the extras you sorted and left for the birthday girl! Hide

The house was amazing and in a nice quiet area. The house had everything you needed and more. Games room and hot tub is what made us choose this house and it didnt disappoint. Great location for accessing Scarborough, the coast and the moors. Plenty of space for all the family, with many snooker games played, and hot tub dips.

Church Beck House is fully equipped with everything you need for a stay of any length. On the edge of a lovely village with eateries within easy walking distance. In a beautiful part of the country with so many places to explore.

Fantastic house to enjoy a family weekend. The location was perfect in a beautiful village close to Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby, plus many more places to visit. Extremely well equipped and comfortable house which is well placed for the lovely village and surrounding areas. Good food at both the Yew Tree and The Plough which are within easy walking distance. Snooker table and hot tub kept us all entertained and the fizz and tasty goodies on our arrival were a lovely touch. I highly recommend this property aRead mores it literally caters for everyone however there are a few steps within the house which could prove problematic for small children or anyone with mobility issues. This was a great stay and very good value for money. The kitchen was brilliantly equipped & the snooker room was a great place to spend hours playing & having fun.
