Situated in the delightful fishing village of Shaldon, this two-storey, four-bed property is the perfect base for a jam-packed holiday incorporating beach fun, coastal trails and seaside feasts. Picnic along the South West Coast Path, hop on a ferry to Teignmouth for water sports and sea safaris, or visit Shaldon Zoo. Nearby Ness Cove beach is a lovely spot to while away a sunny day; for classic, resort-style entertainment, Torbay is less than 8 miles away.

With large rooms and clever style touches maximising the feeling of space and light, this splendid holiday home offers very comfortable accommodation for a larger group. On entering via six stone steps, guests will see that even the ground-floor entrance hall is roomy, providing shoe and boot storage and featuring a picture window that looks out onto the garden. A bright, airy lounge with large sofas is a convivial space for cosy evenings, and the kitchen/diner has a smart breakfast bar with stools for a casual cup of coffee as well as a generous dining table seating eight for mealtime gatherings. Also on this floor is a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a twin bedroom with zip-and-link beds which can be presented as a super-king-size bed as required, a family bathroom with both a bath and a shower, and a utility room with a useful washer/dryer. An attractive staircase leads up to the first floor where you’ll find a large king-size bedroom with a lounge area, an en-suite bathroom with a bath and a shower, and a private glass-enclosed balcony, as well as a further twin room, also with zip-and-link beds which can be presented as a super-king, and an en-suite shower room.

Outdoors, there’s a large patio terrace accessed via French doors from the kitchen/diner, a BBQ for guests’ use, and a rambling, lawn garden with trees and mature planting – a great space for kids to burn off some energy before bed while the grown-ups relax.

Great property, comfortably sleeps 8, very dog friendly. Shaldon is a lovely location with walks, pubs and cafes plus a great butcher, no need to cross the river to Teignmouth much better is the strenuous walk along the coastal path to the Thatched Tavern.

The property was amazing. The welcome gifts were lovely. It was exactly what we were looking for in Shaldon. We would suggest that the information on your website about the property is updated - the photo's do not truly reflect the outside space; the garden is very steep and the trees/bushes around the property are much more overgrown. The road to Read morethe property doesn't clearly advise that the house is at the top, and is also really overgrown and brushes up the cars as you go up and down. The parking is also really only for 2 large cars or 3 small. We had two people who had mobility issues and the walk up to the property (when not driving up the private road) was a problem due to how steep it is. So it's only suitable for people with mobility issues if driving up to the property every time. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The only reason we wouldn't stay at this property again (with the same group) was due to overall accessibility. Hide

BBQing on the terrace + sunbathing. Loathe the steep hill climb, but I'll get over it. Shaldon is beautiful! Very HYGGE - read the book - loved it! Now also want a 'SHE' shed - read that book also! Thank you for a beautiful home!
