Built on a steep hill and bounded by water on three sides, Polruan’s headland position once made it an important lookout point. Alternatively, follow the South West Coast Path a mile east and you’ll reach Lantic Bay – crystal-clear water and a seldom-busy beach make this a great spot for paddling and picnics. There are more natural wonders at the renowned Eden Project (13 miles away). Or spend the day ferry hopping from Polruan to Fowey to Mevagissey to visit the aquarium, art galleries, pubs, shops, cafes, and restaurants.

A utility room and cloakroom complete the list of ground-floor essentials, and for those who’d prefer not to climb stairs, there’s a twin bedroom and beautifully-tiled shower room on this level too. On the first floor, an impressive family bathroom and separate W/C, serve the double and twin bedroom, while in the main bedroom, there’s a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room.
