Situated between Orford and Woodbridge on the stunning Suffolk coast, this beautiful modern barn conversion offers a perfect mix of relaxation and activity. Spend days swimming, walking, bird watching, fishing and sailing or simply sit and enjoy the magnificent view. Located on farmland less than a mile walk down to the remote beach at Shingle Street, the barn is 1.5 miles from the village of Hollesley and 3.5 miles from the village of Alderton. Walking routes nearby take you the 5 miles to Bawdsey where you can catch the foot ferry across to the seaside town of Felixstowe. Or visit the pretty village of Orford with its castle, fish restaurant, harbour and nature reserve 10 miles away.
There are two properties on the site, the first of which sleeps six guests. Two steps lead to the front door which leads into a spacious hallway, ideal for boots, coats, and buggies. This leads to a modern open-plan living space, with a well-equipped kitchen, large dining table and chairs, large sofas and a wood burner to cosy up in front of. Large French doors lead out to the garden area. There is a small twin bedroom on the ground floor level, fitted with blackout blinds. A further two bedrooms, a twin, and a king-size with en-suite, and a family bathroom sit off a raised hallway area. The next cottage (which is reached via two steps) sleeps four and is finished to the same high standard, again with a large hallway, open-plan kitchen, and dining and living space with a wood burner and artwork by a local photographer. Large patio doors also lead out to the shared garden space. A raised hallway area leads to a twin bedroom, a master room with a king-size bed and en-suite, and a family bathroom.
Outside, there are decked seating areas for each barn and provide outdoor furniture, large, private, grassy gardens and breath-taking views of the coast. A further barn houses a large communal dining area with seating for ten, as well as a games room, laundry room and storage facilities for bikes or sports equipment. From May to the end of September there is also an enclosed, solar-warmed, circular plunge pool, perfect for a refreshing dip.
