The house and layout itself is lovely, but its a little tired, not as clean as we'd expect and there are a number of maintenance jobs required that appear to have been reported previously. The two spaniels running out barking would not be suitable for a reactive dog, or anyone who is scared of dogs, and the young man wandering round the farm with aRead more huge air rifle was a bit disconcerting. However, we did have a nice holiday with lots of walking on the coast and in Calder Vale and Arnside. Hide

A very comfortable and spacious property in a lovely location. Tastefully furnished. Easily wheelchair accessible all throughout ground floor. Welcome scones were a nice touch. Ideal for a multi-generational family visit. Easy day trips to Lancaster, Liverpool and Blackpool and other areas.

Beautiful cottage, but could do with some updating. Lovely seeing the chickens roaming freely around. Nice you can see and feed the pigs.

The building and location stunning unfortunately the house was unacceptably dirty in areas and furniture broken and/or tired. Downstairs floor was broken and dippy to the point of feeling unsafe in places. Would not return to this accommodation.

It was very welcoming to find a plate of freshly made scones batter, jam and clotted cream on arrival. On the whole it was clean and homely but in need of a little TLC. Our main concern was the wooden flooring which creaked throughout, and needed replacing / repairing in places as damaged areas were unsafe especially for anyone with mobility issRead moreues. In need of varnishing to improve appearance. Lovely to have a cottage in a rural area yet within easy walking distance of village amenities.
