Visit the Goathland station, popularized by its feature in the Harry Potter films and enjoy a traditional ride through some truly stunning scenery. Venture a little further afield and drive 9.5 miles to arrive in the gothic town of Whitby or drive 12.5 miles to visit the fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay.

 

As you step into this comfortable, stylishly presented accommodation offering plenty of space for the entire family to unwind, you will discover panoramic views from almost every room. The homely lounge comes complete with soft furnishings and a wood burner at it's heart, perfect for those chillier evenings. The farmhouse-style kitchen with its breakfast bar and AGA offers everything you might need to rustle up hearty family meals before enjoying them in the adjoining, light-filled dining area which boasts plenty of space for everyone. You won't be short of entertainment once you discover the games room, home to both a pool and ping table among other distractions. The four, tastefully furnished bedrooms are set out across the first and second floors, with the added benefit of three bathrooms to share between the group.

 

The beautiful south-facing garden has a lawn area, perfect for stretching out with a blanket and a good book in the summer months. There's also a terrace for al-fresco dining and a BBQ house which is useable throughout the year. Lockable storage for bikes is available.

Overall Curlew is a very good cottage to stay in: spacious ,stylfully done (wall colors++) with high level of finishing , really pleasant atmosphere, free of clutter and useless objects. The cottage is beautiful, comfortable, fully equipped and in a great location..The owner was there to greet us and was very welcoming. WiFi and phone signal not very good and limiting. All in all a great stay and would recommend.

Lovely house in a beautiful part of Yorkshire. The free ranging sheep give the village a unique character. We were a group of eight, and we all enjoyed the accomodation. Absolutely stunning location. Lovely spacious quirky house. Plenty of space for the 6 of us plus 2 dogs. Great for walking from the door. Lots to do locally. We had a wonderful Christmas in Curlew cottage: Gorgeous location. Absolutely charming cottage which was extremely well equipped. Comfortable beds. Plenty of space for 6 and a dog. The pool table was put to great use. Only issue was that the Wifi only works intermittently. Our hosts made us feel very welcome.

Gorgeous cottage in a fantastic location in the village. Spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished with very comfortable beds. The games room was thoroughly enjoyed by children and adults alike. We had a wonderful holiday and wouldn't hesitate to return.

A wonderful cottage in the most beautiful setting. Every detail given careful consideration. Very well equipped kitchen, bathrooms, lovely comfortable beds and games room to the delight of our four grandsons. Perfect, and the sheep were friendly too!

Absolutely beautiful cottage, extremely comfortable and very clean. Very quiet. Very good hiking area. Extremely poor phone signal in whole area though and intermittent Wi-Fi at best.
