Lying between the National Nature Reserves of Glen Affric and Glen Strathfarrar, Glen Cannich is a sparsely populated, less-visited area where wildlife abounds, making this a nature lover's paradise. Lace up your walking boots for a hike around the loch enjoying the sense of isolation and keeping your eyes peeled for the ospreys, ptarmigan and golden eagles that soar above your head or the red deer that make their homes on the lower banks of the glen. Follow the walking and cycling trails from nearby Cannich (8.5 miles) around beautiful Loch Affric or to the stunning Dogs Falls and Plodda Falls. Discover the myths and legends behind one of Scotland's most famous residents at the Loch Ness Visitor Centre (26 miles) and take to the waters in search of Nessie on a cruise across the lake.

Originally built as a hunting lodge in the early 20th century, your holiday home sits in splendid isolation overlooking the banks of Loch Sealbhanach. Pull onto the gated driveway, step out of your car and gaze at the rugged hills and open skies that surround you. From the front door, head through to the formal drawing room with large picture window overlooking the loch. This elegant room has a selection of comfortable sofas arranged around the open fire, perfect for quiet conversations or a game of cards in the evening. Your stylish and contemporary kitchen has everything you need to make your stay a home-from-home, including an AGA, fridge/freezer, additional chest freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher and microwave. With beamed ceiling and windows looking onto the loch, dine in style in the elegant dining room, where the formal dining table comfortably seats up to 22 guests, making this ideal for celebratory meals. After your supper, step into the cosy bar for cocktails or a dram of the local whisky and conversation into the early hours. There are also two handy WC's on the ground floor for your convenience. When it's time to retire, climb the wonderful period staircase to the first floor where you will find seven well-appointed bedrooms. Four of the bedrooms boast king-size beds dressed in luxurious linens with sumptuous soft furnishings and countryside views. Ample storage space for your possessions is provided and each of the rooms benefit from an en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Further along the hallway is the family bedroom with a double and twin beds and Jack and Jill style en-suite bathroom with WC. Enjoying an en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC is another comfortable double bedroom and a further cosy double bedroom comes with a shower over bath and WC.

Outside, spread out your picnic blanket for an al fresco lunch in the large, enclosed garden where there is plenty of room for younger guests to play. Ample private off-road parking.

The house is near the end of a very long road, the drive to the house is beautiful. We saw lots of stags and reindeer. The setting of the house overlooking the Loch and mountains is amazing.
