  • Detached, rural property with spacious garden and far reaching views of the Dorset countryside
  • Dine al fresco on the terrace, relax in the private hot tub or explore the walks from the doorstep
  • Only three miles from the spectacular Jurassic Coast to explore and maybe find a fossil or two
Property code: OC-77437

Tucked away at the end of a private lane, you can look forward to idyllic countryside views, an indulgent hot tub and a variety of walking and cycling trails from the doorstep. There is a picturesque Dorset village, with its friendly local pub, just a mile and half away and Eype beach on the Jurassic Coast is a three mile drive. The historic market town of Bridport is within a 10 minute drive where there is a larger selection of shops, cafes and restaurants, as well as a lively arts scene and vintage and farmers’ markets. The nearby fishing village of West Bay has a pretty harbour and beach, as well as access to the South West Coast Path.

Enter into the light and bright property, offering a clean and crisp feel throughout. On chilly winter evenings light the wood burner in the lounge, sink into the sofa in front of its warm glow and watch the sun set over the rolling countryside through the large bay window. This is the perfect spot to cosy up with a movie on the TV, while the kids entertain themselves with the TV and games in the snug. The well-equipped kitchen with Range oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer, is just the place to rustle up a hearty supper for all the family, which can be laid out for all to enjoy on the large table in the dining room, as the wood burner crackles in the background. There are three bedrooms in the main property, two super-king-size zip-and-links (which can be made into a twin on request), one with en-suite shower and WC, and a double bedroom. There is a family bathroom completing this property with bath, shower and WC. Heading outside there is a separate log cabin in the garden, providing an extra super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made into a twin on request) and an en-suite shower and WC. There is a comfortable lounge area with a TV and has its own veranda and outside seating area to make the most of the views and local wildlife.

The spacious garden has a large lawn as well as a raised decking area. It is wonderfully secluded and enjoys glorious vistas as far as the eye can see over the surrounding fields and woodland. The bubbling hot tub is a welcome spot to make a toast as the sun sets, while the BBQ sizzles and the younger members of the party have fun on the trampoline. There is ample off road parking available at the property.

The property was excellent and the views amazing. The garden was perfect for dogs, secure and enclosed. There are public footpaths accessible in most direction direct from the property and you can walk to the Symondsbury Estate without seeing a road! Stayed over the Christmas Holiday - Christmas tree fully decorated and ready for us on arrival (our child was very excited by this) location was perfect and the house was very cosy. Could not recommend more highly and hope to stay again in the future.

Many thanks to the lovely people at the estate for making our stay so enjoyable. The Apple Day event was wonderful. Our granddaughters loved the old fashioned country games.

The location was fantastic, we loved the views. The garden was secure enough to contain our energetic dog (collie cross) and there was plenty of room to throw a ball for him. We enjoyed the hot tub. Beautiful views from this family friendly cottage. We enjoyed beautiful walks to the Symondsbury estate cafe for brunches. It worked well for us as a group of eight.

We had a lovely stay here and it is very well equipped and peaceful. A short country walk to the restaurant and estate shop, with a pub down the road too. A good location for Weymouth, Lyme Regis and coastal walks. A brilliant secure garden for the dogs too. Its also limited in the house bedrooms for hanging clothes and its chalet style so it would be a squeeze upstairs if 6 adults. Hide
