This property is situated on the outskirts of the village of Goodrich in the picturesque Wye Valley, and is a pleasant walk from the village’s imposing medieval castle, which is maintained by English Heritage. Those who love to spend time in nature will relish the walks around Symonds Yat Rock, an ancient hill fort offering breath-taking views across the valley below. Symonds Yat West Leisure Park is also nearby and offers a fun day out for all ages, with plenty of space to play games, adventure playgrounds, river boat cruises, and a fun go-kart track. It isn’t all countryside pursuits though, as Ross-on-Wye, Hereford, and Gloucester are all within easy reach.

On entering this unusual property, guests will find themselves in the spacious lounge area, there is also a downstairs WC and cloakroom. With its exposed stone walls and deep-set windows, there is a real sense of history in this room, and when the wood burner is lit in the evenings there is a wonderfully cosy atmosphere. The sofas and armchairs provide somewhere comfortable to relax whilst watching the TV. To the right as you enter this impressive building and through an prigianl stone archway is the modern open plan kitchen and dining area with French windows leading out into the shared courtyard. A large dining table, which comfortable seats up to ten guests, is a great place for enjoying sociable mealtimes together. The kitchen area is very well-equipped with an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. Narrow, stone stairs which would have been used by the original occupants of this building, lead to the first floor. As you arrive at the top of the stairs there is an open landing where you will find two super king-sized, en suite bedrooms (both can be made into twins on request).  Another two sets of stairs lead to the second floor, one on the right and one on the left of the open landing. Following the stairs to the right you will find two further en suite, king-size bedrooms. To the left of the open landing you will find a further staircase leading to the master suite with stunning high ceilings, roll top bath and separate en-suite shower room, a room fit for a king.

Outside, guests have access to the spacious shared gardens where they will find picnic benches and seating scattered around the lawns, offering the perfect place to enjoy a picnic or simply relax in the attractive surroundings.

Talbot is simply fabulous. The whole building oozes character and history. The house is very well equipped, its cosy but spacious. All the rooms are unique and the beds are extremely comfortable. Really good hot showers and luxury bed linen and towels. Great location, lots of parking, and lovely views. We will definitely be back.

Such a beautifully decorated and well equipped property. The interior design was exceptionally lovely. Coffee shop on site wonderful too. Just a shame not open Mon-Thurs, but a real bonus nonetheless!

Lovely unusual property - part of the Flanesford Priory building. Really well situated for the Wye Valley attractions. I was unsure about using a shared garden space, but it worked well and was a beautiful spot. The Cafe on site Friday to Sunday, does amazing cake / food.
