This delightful detached New England style house is just a short walk from the tranquil and sandy beaches of Priory Bay and Seagrove Bay where you can enjoy swimming, paddling, rock pooling or playing in the sand. This is a beautiful coastal area and the nearby coastal path can be followed to St Helens and onwards to Bembridge. The charming Edwardian resort of Seaview offers a choice of small shops and cafes. You can also walk along the seafront of Seaview into Ryde – a seaside resort with a variety of traditional seaside entertainments. Nearby places to visit include Havenstreet Steam Railway, Robin Hill Adventure Park and Osborne House - the island home of Queen Victoria.

On entering this tasteful and bright holiday cottage you will find yourself in an attractive entrance hall which opens into a spacious lounge, with comfy seating and TV. Exploring the ground floor further you will find a lovely delightful dining area, with patio doors opening on to the terrace, and you will find the kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine and breakfast bar. There’s also a second charming lounge with comfy seating and TV/DVD. You will also find a cosy double bedroom with French doors opening into the garden and an en-suite shower room with WC, as well as a separate ground-floor WC. A beautiful staircase winds up from the lounge to the first floor where there are three further cosy bedrooms. There’s a twin room, a double room, and the main bedroom which has a king-size bed, a dressing area, a small mezzanine, and an en-suite shower room with WC. There is also a bathroom complete with a corner bath, separate shower and WC.

Stepping outside you will find a lovely fenced and gated garden at the rear of the cottage. Immediately adjacent to the house is a terrace with garden furniture and a BBQ so you can enjoy dining in the sunshine. Five steps lead up to a large lawn and four further steps up to a raised patio area with additional garden furniture. Please be aware that there is a 3 foot drop between the lawn and the terrace, so children should be supervised. At the front of the property there is a large drive where four cars can be accommodated.

Lovely location, just a couple of things that need addressing with mattresses and the main sofa. Other than these, a lovely house and location.

I booked this cottage for a multi- generational group holiday and it was superb. Walking distance to the sea and excellent position for reaching other venues easily. The garden was completely dog friendly and secure.

Lovely location, house clean but a few things need improving. Sofas in main living room were very uncomfortable. The twin bed mattresses were worn. Fridge didn't seem to keep food very cold despite adjustment. Garden furniture seats were worn/broken. Apart from these issues, we enjoyed our stay and have rebooked for next year. With the above pointsRead more improved, this would be one of the best houses we have booked. Great enclosed garden too. Hide

We really enjoyed our second visit to Iona and would definitely stay again. As mentioned by other guests there is an issue with the main lounge sofas and I have directly addressed this with the owner. Iona is in a good location with lots of wild life. Its like being in the middle of the country. Easy access to what the island has to offer.

Very nice house in a great and very quiet location. Short walk to the beach in one direction, local well stocked shop in the other direction. Fabulous star gazing because of the lack of street lights. Nicely decorated, spacious, very clean and very well equipped. Secure garden for the dogs or kiddies. The house is let down by the mezzanine to the mRead moreaster bedroom so all the heat and noise from the lounge below travels into the bedroom making the bedroom very hot and feel very un-private! A beautifully presented house, roomy and perfect for up to 8 people. Just 800 yards from the beach and in a very quite part of the IoW it is perfect for a peaceful break.

To add to what I've put above, it was also difficult for my travelling companion (a lady of 88 years) because the downstairs ensuite area had no working toilet (we booked the house especially because of this ground floor facility) and, at night, she had to walk across the lounge area to use the downstairs loo. That said, we found the house comfortaRead moreble, clean and very good for our two small dogs. We also saw red squirrels in the garden - a bonus! Hide

We had a very relaxing, quiet week at Iona cottage. Lovely walks to the beach if you get the tide times correct. We were very grateful for the dog towels, bowl, treat and the fruit bowl. We would love to return again.
