Situated in the heart of Dorset’s beautiful landscape of rolling hills and open farmland affording wonderful walking, there are a network of footpaths directly from the property. The area offers a wealth of pretty villages, sandy beaches and a coastline which has world heritage status. The pretty market town of Shaftesbury, which itself is home to Gold Hill, known to many as “Hovis Hill” as it was used in the 70’s television adverts for Hovis bread, is 5 minutes away. The popular seaside resorts of Poole, Bournemouth and Weymouth are also worth a visit. Other attractions include Hayes Motor Museum, Longleat House and Safari Park, the beautiful gardens at Stourhead House, Salisbury Cathedral, Yeovilton Air Arm Museum and Monkey World.

Entering the property from the terrace, you are met by a beautiful lounge/kitchen/diner with an impressive apex ceiling, exposed beams, sliding doors and oak flooring. Here you can relax and enjoy the countryside views while snuggled up in front of the wood burner. Enjoy watching your favourite programme on the Smart TV or take time to enjoy a DVD. The impressive kitchen is very well equipped and is perfect to try out some new recipes or cook some old family favourites using the breakfast bar/island. The kitchen has two electric oven and hob, Lavassa coffee machine, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and dishwasher. The utility room has a fridge/freezer, washing machine and plenty of space for storing muddy boots. You will then come to the third bedroom a cosy twin with TV, a great room for children. There is also a newly installed shower room and WC conveniently located on this floor too. Heading upstairs you will find a further king-size bedroom with a TV.

Venturing outside, you will find a private terrace directly outside the lounge/kitchen/diner doors, perfect for outside dining with garden furniture, BBQ and a wonderful wood-fired hot tub. There are large shared gardens all enjoying the fabulous countryside views. Have fun in the shared open-sided games barn with table tennis and table football.

We spent a week in Dukums House as a family of 5, and had a fabulous time here. The cottage is beautifully presented, spacious and well equipped. There were thoughtful touches to the items left (radios and books to use, a map of the local area, good quality linens), as well as comfortable furniture and a very well equipped kitchen. This property is a stunning place to have quality time with family. The open plan kitchen/diner/ sitting room provides a good communal area. The bedrooms are spotless and lovely. We cannot fault this holiday home. Absolutely stunning - it is a little cramped for sleeping space when you are all adults and only 2 toilets/bathrooms was slightly tricky at times! Saying this though, we all agreed it didnt really matter as the living space is far more important for us to enjoy! The garden is wonderful and the hot tub an added joyRead more! Absolutely amazing house!! The space is homely and the beds and sofas are super comfortable. The owners are really friendly and helpful. Me and my friends thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was the perfect place to go to for my 21st. It is in a great place with loads of lovely walks and things to do nearby, I would definitely recommend longleat as Read morea potential day out as it is only half an hour away from the house. We had a fantastic stay - it is a beautiful house and fitted out to a very high standard. There is plenty of crockery etc without fear of running out before the dishwasher is turned on! Lovely property in a lovely location. Well equipped and mostly very happy with it. Owners were unobtrusive but it lacks privacy generally if that's important to you. Spacious for our large family group in all respects except toilet facilities which were inadequate for the number it accommodates.
