This beautiful property is set in a charming Dorset village and is perfect for exploring the Jurassic Coast. The glorious Chesil Beach is just 200 metres away and you can enjoy coastal walks up to the stunning West Bay (6 miles) and Hive Beach (3.5 miles). The nearby village of Abbotsbury (5 miles) is home to both Abbotsbury Swannery and Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens. Other coastal villages and towns within easy reach include Burton Bradstock (4 miles), Charmouth (13 miles) and Lyme Regis (16 miles), and, heading inland, Dorchester (14.5 miles) which is renowned for its links with Thomas Hardy. Local attractions include Mapperton House and Gardens (12 miles), the Kingston Russell Stone Circle (7 miles) and Coney’s Castle (14 miles).

A couple of steps lead up to the large enclosed porch where you can leave coats and boots, leading into the tiled hall and through to the pretty lounge. This is a lovely space to relax in, with plenty of seating, a Smart TV with Netflix and a Bluetooth sound system. Exploring further you will find the charming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This spacious room features a cosy seating area, an attractive dining area overlooking the garden and a stylish kitchen equipped with an oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. Patio doors lead out to the garden. Exploring the ground floor further you will find two comfortable bedrooms, both with a TV and en-suite shower rooms with WCs: there’s a double and a twin. The ground floor also features a pet/boot room which is ideal for pets and wet weather gear. Heading upstairs you will find two further bedrooms: one room with a 5’ zip-and-link bed with TV and fabulous sea views, and a double room with 5’ bed, TV and a balcony with table and chairs allowing you to enjoy the sunset. This room has an en-suite shower room with WC. The first floor also has a bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.

The front garden is laid to lawn with mature shrubs framing the entrance. Heading round to the rear of the property, the back garden is split into three areas linked by steps and paths. There are lawn areas surrounded by trees and a charming patio where you can enjoy a morning coffee. To the side of the property is a covered area for storing bikes. Ample parking is available on the drive.

The cottage is fabulous - brilliantly positioned and well equipped and very comfortable and I would stay again in a heartbeat. I wished the house was mine!!! The garden is spectacular and we were blessed with great weather so we spent all our time out there or on the beach.

We had the most wonderful stay at this beautifully presented house in a stunning coastal location. From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtful and welcoming. There was plenty of parking, the house was exceptionally clean, and it was stocked with absolutely everything we could possibly need. The space worked perfectly for our whole famRead moreily, with room for everyone to relax. The welcome hamper was such a lovely touch, and even the dogs were treated to goodies of their own. This is a really beautifully situated cottage, with lovely rooms upstairs but a bit cramped downstairs. I am handicapped and need a walker to get about and could have done with a bit more space. Obviously not possible with the layout. Soon got used to it. Amazing garden with many surprises.

Such a well equipped and comfortable holiday home away from home. The garden was lovely and safe for the dog and the house had everything we needed and more. A fantastic welcome box on arrival with delicious local produce and all the essentials was a lovely surprise. Well thought out and excellent for multigenerational families. We will return.

A fabulous stay, yet again. We were torn between spending time down at the sea or enjoying the restful garden, which is divided into various sections so plenty of room to hide away for some quality "me time". Perfect location and well equipt property. Always a lovely and gratefully received welcome box to get the holiday off to a relaxing start.

Thankyou for a great stay. House, Gardens location great. Walked to Abbotsworthy for coffee every morning along the beach. All the people were friendly and The Manor is great for food and drink.

Had a wonderful stay. First holiday with my baby grandson, who enjoyed his surroundings immensely. Cottage was to a high spec and you could tell a lot of love and effort was put into it. Another relaxing, comfortable stay at Shearwater. Visit twice a year and always clean and tidy and owners provide a very lovely Welcome pack. Whilst it is great to be so near the sea and the Jurassic Coast, the garden at this property is so relaxing to sit in that it is sometimes hard to leave it and explore the area.
