This lovingly restored character property within beautiful grounds is located just 1.5 miles from the heart of the pretty village of Ticehurst, with an award-winning pub, village shop and cafe catering to every taste. This beautiful area is a walkers and cyclists paradise, with a range of walks and routes for all abilities, including Bewl Water, Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest and High Weald National Landscape. There’s no shortage of historic sites to see either, with National Trust’s Batemans, Bodiam Castle and Scotney Castle all within 7 miles. Should you fancy a day at the beach, jump in the car and head over to Hastings (20 miles) for a traditional family day of sunbathing, amusements, and adventure golf.

Arrive at this stunning cottage and find yourselves entering into the dining room. This room is particularly intimate with its solid wooden furniture, seating for eight and overhead spotlights. There’s also a Sonos speaker here for a little mood music while you dine. Head to your right and down a step to discover the lounge. It’s a haven of relaxation, featuring a flickering wood burner, comfortable seating and a Smart TV – perfect for those movie nights together. Back through the dining room and up a step is the breakfast room, and down another two steps is the well-equipped kitchen. This room is a chef’s dream thanks to its incredible overhead exposed beams, country-style cabinets, and more-than-ample storage. Also, on the ground floor, you’ll find two well-appointed bedrooms, a king-size and a twin, and a convenient shower room. Venture upstairs to discover the two remaining bedrooms: a sumptuous king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with bath, shower and WC, and an inviting twin room with its en-suite shower room. This cottage was perfect for our families to stay at, with just about everything we required already there. Anything that we found we needed was quickly provided by the very friendly and helpful owners. The rooms were spacious, well furnished and clean and the garden perfect for relaxing and eating in. Plenty of parking too!

This is one of those times when part of me doesn't really want to write a review as I don't want other people to find out just how fantastic The Granary is! We have stayed in a number of cottages in the last few years and I am used to the reality not quite living up to the promises within the web advert. This is not the case with The Granary - Read morein fact the property exceeded our expectations. Despite being large and having vaulted ceilings it was a lovely, warm property with a Nest thermostat to adjust the temperature to your liking. The lounge has plenty of comfy seating and a large TV with both Freesat and Apple TV boxes attached. The dining room has a cupboard containing a fantastic selection of board games and a complete set of Harry Potter books if you want some holiday reading. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and had everything we needed for our week there. The beds were all comfy and the showers had good pressure and were simple to operate. The garden area was a real sun trap and I found myself sitting outside a lot whilst our dog was sniffing around the garden despite it being under 10 degrees. There were even clear, laminated instructions for how to use the TV & Sonos sound system and the best way to get the wood burner lit. Despite not being far from the A21 it feels like you're in the middle of nowhere. The birds gradually wake you up with an amazing dawn chorus and, at night, you hear the owls hooting. All in all, a fantastic property which I'm more than happy to recommend. Hide

Great place to stay with extended family or groups of friends. With both double and twin room upstairs and down it was really useful for my elderly mother. Complete with choice of bathrooms with showers and one with a bath/shower. Host was super helpful. Contacting us prior to arrival and was on hand if necessary. Loved it!

Probably the best cottage we have stayed at. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable. It was a lovely location particularly for Bedgebury. The owner was very helpful and the Christmas decorations were a lovely touch.

We had the most wonderful stay at The Granary. Every little detail had been thought of. Our fur babies enjoyed the treats that were left for them, as did we. We had a lovely stay at this holiday house. It was spacious and gave a lovely atmosphere in the countryside. The owner was super helpful, and great recommendation leaflets were inside the accommodation. Even a dog treat basket was provided for our four-legged friend. What a fantastic find, we had a really good time with the family and 2 dogs at The Granary. Probably the best equipped and most comfortable property that we have ever stayed in. Plenty of crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, glasses, serving dishes etc and lots of unexpected extras like a welcome basket for the dogs! Tastefully decorated with comfortabRead morele beds, excellent showers, decent large towels, plenty of hot water, and a superb TV & sound system. The garden was perfect for our 2 cocker spaniels who normally find a little hole to escape through but not at The Granary! Plenty of parking, great outside space with a hot & cold shower for getting sand and mud off the dogs after a swim in the sea or reservoir! The Granary was a excellent property, with more than enough space for the four of us (2 adults, 2 kids). The dining room was huge and whilst the lounge was also massive, it was very cosy, with a good log burner and plenty of comfy sofas to hang out on in the evenings. The kitchen was well-equipped and while I can imagine it may feel a bit tight if Read morethere were 8 of you staying, it was perfect for us. The bedrooms were great, each with an en suite upstairs. The hosts were very welcoming, both introducing themselves but not imposing and we felt they were ready to assist with any issues (not that there were any). If you are looking for an English cottage vibe, this is the property! It is surrounded by beautiful nature and there are plenty activities in Ticehurst. We really recommend the pub The Bell in Ticehurst! If you want to head to the city, there is a station nearby which makes London only an hour away.
