A splendid, rural retreat, dating back to the 1600s, this enticing holiday home is set on the edge of an RSPB nature reserve on the beautiful Isle of Purbeck. Sleeping eight guests, and offering dog-friendly accommodation, it has four bedrooms and a wealth of original charm. Step out to explore the verdant Dorset countryside and follow footpaths with stunning coastal views through the nature reserve. Visit Wareham, 4.5 miles away, with its shops, eateries and quay, where there is a weekly market. You can also hire a boat here or take a cruise on a paddle steamer. Plan a trip to Studland Bay, 10.5 miles away, where you can swim from the sandy beach and walk through National Trust heathland.

Tear yourselves away from the views and enter this inviting abode to find it has two lounges where you and your group can settle on the comfortable seating in front of a roaring wood burner. One of these lounges also has a TV and DVD player for film nights together after your fun days out. The kitchen, with its blue units, has a large walk-in pantry and plenty of equipment to enable you to prepare hearty feasts for your party with the fresh Dorset produce you have purchased. There is a breakfast table in here and a large table through in the dining room. Also at this level is a family shower room. A second family shower room and a family bathroom are on the floor above. All four bedrooms are also up here. These include a super-king-size, a king-size and two twins. A laundry room, with washing machine and tumble dryer, can be accessed externally.

The impressive garden has extensive areas of lawn and beautiful mature trees. There is play equipment for children and a raised patio, with BBQs, for outside dining, relaxation and soaking up the far-reaching views.

This was a great location for a three generational family holiday. The garden is fantastic with plenty of outside spaces to share and it is secure so the dog was safe. The house was really comfortable with everything we needed to self cater.
