This fantastic property is set amidst 500 acres of rolling hills, lush woodlands, and vast meadows, creating a truly enchanting environment. Whilst the estate itself provides ample entertainment, the local area and community offers a range of amenities, including a quintessential Country pub - The Saracens Head which used to be part of the Wolterton Estate and the market town of Aylsham (5.5 miles) which provides supermarkets, further local independent businesses and eateries. If you’d like to venture further afield and appreciate some more historical Norfolk architecture and history, the National Trust estates of Blickling Hall (5 miles) and Felbrigg Hall (10 miles) often have family-friendly fun and seasonal events to enjoy as well as year-round walks, cafes and gift shops. Just a further 3 miles on from Felbrigg is Cromer Beach to give you a taste of that famous North Norfolk seaside air.
Upon arriving at grand Palladian Hall, guests enter the stone vaulted entrance Hall with magnificent cantilever staircase beyond. On the Ground Floor guests can enjoy the Walpole Library which houses the original Walpole collection, with an open fire and access to the family kitchen. Also used as a dining room, there are tables and chairs, but more informal seating can be provided to seat up to fifty-five people for a larger gathering – great for group bookings across multiple properties on the estate. Guests can also access the gardens through full height sash windows. Additionally, the Hall has a fully fitted catering kitchen for events and gatherings.
On the First Floor, you will find the State Rooms with high corniced ceilings, original marble fireplaces, Georgian cut glass chandeliers with a fine collection of original artwork and 18th century Teniers tapestries. The impressive Derbyshire marble Entrance Hall makes for a fantastic drinks party, theatre-style presentation or dance floor area. This area leads through to the State Dining Room, comfortably seating twelve as standard, but providing additional seating for up to thirty guests on request. The Venetian Room, named after the Palladian window which fills the west side, has views over the west of the park. To the south of the property, you will find the beautifully furnished Portrait Room, Grand Saloon and the Boudoir. These opulent rooms offer an excellent space to relax and unwind with loved ones and offer great communal spaces for gatherings. The State Bedroom suite boasts an enormous Vi Spring bed with spectacular corona. The bathroom was pictured on the front cover of House and Garden magazine in January 2023, and offers a totally unique experience. There is also a spectacular marble wet room with rainfall shower. Also on the first floor is a servery area for caterers. Up the grand central staircase, the second floor is home to the twelve bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. All of the bedrooms are elegantly positioned around two light wells with views of every aspect of the park. The spacious rooms all have fine original fireplaces, grand cornices, sash windows with working shutters, and are richly furnished and include original artwork as well as other characterful and historical features. The en-suite bathrooms have all been refurbished to the highest standards with marble vanities, cast iron baths, rainfall showers, mosaic, and nickel-plated taps feature throughout.
