If you are looking for a house with the wow factor then look no further. This fantastic large farmhouse offers open-plan, flexible living space with plenty of luxurious features making it an ideal retreat for families or sociable groups getting together. Set within its own 34 acres of unspoilt countryside, including two fully fenced and secure fields for off-lead adventures as well as fantastic woodland walks right from your doorstep, there is plenty to explore. Nearby Polperro and Looe (4 miles) are picturesque fishing villages each with their own harbours and beaches and offering a good fish supper or evening drink. There are plenty of opportunities to indulge in water-based activities with some good diving and snorkelling sites along the coast as well as excellent coves to explore whilst paddleboarding. For a little more adventure, Adrenaline Quarry is 9 miles away and offers an exciting day out. Further afield is The Eden Project (16 miles) which hosts numerous events throughout the year and makes for a great day or night out for all age groups.

Inside, the stunning entrance hall sets the standard right away with its beautiful flagstone flooring all underfloor heated throughout giving that welcoming feel. Opening into the lounge, this comfortable haven, with its large sofas and feature fireplace/wood burner, is the cosiest spot to settle down and watch a movie on the Smart TV. Next door, the kitchen is equally impressive; with its dominating range cooker and marble work surfaces, it offers everything you would need to prepare an incredible meal or hearty breakfast for the family. The grand dining space sits at the end of the kitchen and boasts a huge table and chairs next to the second wood burner, a great sociable space for all the family. Large French doors invite you outside to the garden. Off the dining area, through a short hallway, is the downstairs WC and utility room with additional access out to the garden. Upstairs are four bedrooms, the first of which is the master with its super-king-size, four-poster bed, sitting area and wonderful vaulted ceiling and exposed beams – a stunning luxurious retreat. This room also offers a great dressing area as well as an en-suite bathroom with a separate shower, all immaculately presented. Next door is a lovely twin room and further down the corridor are the remaining two bedrooms: a light and bright bunk room and lastly another fabulous king-size room with a dressing area and an en-suite shower room. Completing this floor is a large, immaculately presented family bathroom.

Outside, there is a large garden and patio area with a private hot tub and a covered outdoor dining area with a gas BBQ, where guests can admire beautiful views of the gardens and open countryside beyond. There is also a small table and chairs just outside the kitchen door to enjoy a morning coffee. A natural play area for children, made from a series of tree stumps, will keep the little ones entertained, along with a swing set and slide. Let their imagination run wild with the specially designed fairy trail in the woods or enjoy feeding and collecting eggs from the resident hens.

The Old Farmhouse is a splendid cottage deep in the Cornish countryside. We were a party of five with three dogs. There is plenty of dog walking on site and beaches and the coastal path are in easy reach. The amenities of the cottage are first class. The owners are on site and very friendly and helpful.

We were happy with out stay at The Old Farmhouse. We appreciated the eggs, bread and milk in the fridge as it meant we had something for breakfast after the long drive from London on Friday. The place is very dog friendly. We needed an enclosed garden and plenty of space as we have a German Shepherd. The garden is safe and dogs would not be able to escRead moreape so can be left unsupervised. We used the gas powered barbeque and that worked out well (needed to use a match from the fireplace for the first 2 elements). There is a stair gate which although a bit of a faff does stop dogs going upstairs (we have a no dogs upstairs policy at home too). The kitchen had everything we needed and plenty of quality cutlery. We had an issue with the hot tub settings and a problem with the washing machine and Vicky (owner) came over within 5 mins and helped resolved the issues. The beds are good and not too soft or saggy as you sometimes get in holiday lets. There is a really nice woodland walk on the property which is very well maintained and nice little fairy statues along the route. There are 2 enclosed dog areas. The one at the top of the hill is best as you get a great view and there is nice comfy hut at the top. Hide
