The order of Cistercian monks who reside here handcraft soap and honey using the lavender that coasts the island, so you’ll be able to pick up some souvenirs. Back on dry land, the coast path stretches to Saundersfoot (5 miles) with its equally as impressive beach and an array of eateries. It is also another popular place to try water sports such as paddleboarding, kayaking and surfing.
Enter via the hallway and discard your sandy shoes in the porch, heading into the kitchen to pop the kettle on after your adventures.
