This restored barn seamlessly blends contemporary features with original ones, and is great for big get-togethers. Surrounded by countryside, the property is just a short drive from the coast. Rock is 3.5 miles away, and a haven for water sports enthusiasts, as it offers excellent windsurfing, paddle boarding and waterskiing opportunities. If you want some surf, just head over to Polzeath, 4 miles away, where you’ll find great waves. Or you could enjoy the Rumps Walk at Pentire Point, 5 miles away, or simply relax by building sandcastles, climbing on rocks, or swimming in Daymer Bay, also 5 miles away. The much-loved harbour town of Padstow sits just across the estuary, and you will find an abundance of shops and fantastic restaurants there. Port Isaac, just 6 miles away, is well worth a visit.

With original beams and exposed granite walls, this traditionally decorated and furnished home from home lends itself to socialising and relaxing. The country-style kitchen/diner is spacious and includes a comfy sofa alongside the charming dining table. The gorgeous lounge features a wood burner and looks out onto the garden through floor-to-ceiling windows and doors which open up onto the lawned garden. Each of the six bedrooms has its own charm and character. There is a super-king-size room, which can be made up as a twin on request, two twins, two bunk rooms and a king-size room. This is the master bedroom with its own en-suite shower room. A wonderful games room has a Smart TV, table football, outdoor Jenga and a range of board games, as well as beanbags to chill out on. Alongside the en-suite shower room, you’ll find a wet room with a shower, and two characterful bathrooms – one with a shower over the bath, the other with a hand-held shower attachment over the bath.

Outside are two lawned areas. One is an enclosed garden with table and chairs as well as loungers. There’s a boules pitch, a table tennis table in the bay beside the shed and a BBQ.

Fantastic location and property. Only a short drive to Rock and other beaches in the area. Games room and huge garden were perfect for entertaining our children. Back garden was well dog proofed and perfect for our puppy. We loved our stay at the Mowhay and would highly recommend.

Property was dirty when arrived - litter on floor in in lounge, bits of dirt on floors, toilet in en-suite dirty, en-suite floor dirty, litter & coffee stains left on marble topped bedside table in double bedroom & when wiped away with damp white cloth, cloth was filthy, sofa in kitchen area dirty & seen better days, kitchen drawers contained liRead moretter & bits of old food, dishwasher needed rinse aid when we arrived, not a lot of wardrobe space as in several bedrooms cupboards locked - in one twin room no hanging space. Only enough outdoor chairs at table for 8 people despite sleeping 10 & of the 8 chairs one was partly broken. Only 2 rusty old Sun loungers. Table tennis table in shed has had water leakage on it & no longer flat at one end & bats were in a bad state. All games except garden Jenga were for young kids. Mini snooker table with one broken cue. Extra games annexe with washing machine & drier was filthy. Lots of owners own cram lying around in games room & rusty broken old pool / boat ladder lying in garden, dirty boards/ropes/cans lying around table tennis shed. Pegs on washing line rusty & disintegrated. Blender didnt work. No hairdryer. Fridge was tiny for 10 people. A storage unit/table in kitchen area had a few cushions & a puzzle marked with missing pieces & covered in lumps of old food bits that had presumably fallen through the holes. Boules place has seen better days! It Range cooker was set up to come on only in mornings & evenings - it would have been nice to have been notified about this for planning as 2 small electric rings are not satisfactory for 10 people. Directions could have been clearer i.e. turn right on the sharp left bend directly after barn & property is on RHS of lane to Mill directly opposite 2 stone cottages. Hide
