This beautiful, detached cottage makes an enchanting country retreat for a large group of family or friends. It is set in a rural hamlet about 1 mile from the village of Menheniot, which has a useful local shop and a friendly pub. The stunning Cornish coastline is just 7 miles away with Looe being the closest seaside town. This is a lively little place with a busy river dividing the town in two and providing picturesque views. Here visitors can take a stroll along the quayside and watch the fishing fleet come in or head to the lovely sandy beach. There is a great range of shops to browse, along with cafes, restaurants and some cosy Cornish pubs. Walkers will enjoy striding out along the wild and rugged South West Coast Path and there are many fantastic trails to follow. Alternatively, the charming fishing village of Polperro is 13 miles from the house with a gorgeous beach surrounded by a dramatic coastline.

The house has been beautifully decorated and finished to a high standard throughout. It is set out across three floors with the bedrooms on the ground floor and the living areas above. The second floor is one open-plan living area with vaulted ceilings, large windows and skylights letting in plenty of natural light. To one end is an inviting lounge area with plush seating gathered around an impressive modern wood burner. There is a long wooden dining table in the centre of the room where the whole group can gather for holiday feasts. From here, a large opening leads into a sleek contemporary kitchen and there’s also a small utility room. A gallery looks out across the first floor below with a short set of wooden stairs leading down to it. This is the games room, a lovely open space that leads out to a raised ground-level patio garden via a set of extra-long bi-fold doors. The room features a pool table, a range of seating and a contemporary fireplace. The tranquil guest bedrooms are all found on the ground floor. There are two super-king rooms, both with built-in wardrobes and en-suite shower rooms. The other two rooms have zip-and-link beds that can either be configured as twin rooms or king-size rooms. The stylish family bathroom has a bath, a walk-in shower and a heated towel rail.

The garden is a wonderful feature of the property and provides a sociable outside space to enjoy. On sunny days guests can open up the long bi-fold doors to the games room and take full advantage of the weather. There’s an extensive patio immediately in front with various seating options and a built-in hot tub. Beyond this is an ample lawn and off to one side is a covered outside kitchen area. Here guests can light up the fire and cook up a feast on the gas-powered BBQ. The area has lots of workspace for food preparation and mixology along with a dining table and chairs.

We really enjoyed staying in this property and location was convenient for nearby attractions however one of the main factors we booked the property was so the adults and children could enjoy the hot tub. The hot tub was broken and not fixed until the day before we left so this was very disappointing.

A very well presented home in a good location within a short drive to Looe. Bedrooms have plenty of room and comfy beds. Pool table a great additional and and really spacious communal space for the family to gather. Would have no issue in booking this cottage again.

Immaculate property, the location is great and it has everything you could want whether you are on a quiet get away with family, or having a get together with some old friends. We made a joke on the way down that there is no way that the property will be as nice as it is in the pictures, to only find out as we walked through the doors, that if anyRead morething the pictures don't do it justice. Only lower scores on cleanliness for oven. The oven was loose in the cabinet housing and broken airer. We did meet the lady and she offered to purchase a new airer for us but we said to leave it until changeover day. Property was other wise perfect.

Great location, close to Adrenalin Quarry, Liskeard and Looe. Great HOT tub, pool table and table tennis table. Great BBQ and garden equipment. Half an hour from the Eden Project. Clean, spacious property in tip-top condition. We all loved it.
