Property code: OC-DCOLDD

A two-storey property, decorated to a high standard, with design nods to nature throughout. It would suit a large family or group of friends with attractive scenery to be found all around. The picture book village of Hartington is home to archetypal rural shops and pubs; its duck pond as much a talking point for visitors as the scenic footpaths leading towards the likes of Dovedale (8.5 miles) with its famous stepping stones. Farther afield, the thermal spa town of Buxton (13 miles) boasts stunning Georgian architecture and many independent shops, pubs and restaurants. History lovers will find the hours easy to lose at Haddon Hall (12 miles) and Chatsworth House (15 miles)

With a fresh, thoughtful colour scheme and furnishings, this property has been designed for get-togethers that span the generations. Guests can lose themselves in the comfort of the lounge seating as a wood burner warms the room. The conversation is sure to flow in the open-plan kitchen/diner, off of which lies a handy utility room and an en suite double bedroom. There are three beautifully finished bedrooms upstairs. Up one staircase you will find two super-king-size (or twin) rooms along with a family bathroom. Up a separate staircase is an en suite double bedroom.

The partly enclosed outside space is equally attractive, with a patio that skirts the property leading to a lawned area with garden furniture and a portable barbecue for al fresco dining in the shade of an old tree.

Comfortable and well equipped cottage which was ideal for seven of us and two dogs, although it is a bit of a disadvantage having to keep them on the lead due to the sheep in the adjacent field. This was clearly pointed out in the description of the cottage so no complaints from the humans but the dogs werent too happy!! Hartington is a lovely viRead morellage with lots of walks right on your doorstep and a few shops which stock the basics. The Fish and Chips van visits on a Friday evening and was a real treat. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend. Hide

Well equipped cottage and great location. A few cobwebs in the corner but nothing that would stop us visiting this cottage again.

Fabulous cottage in a great location! The cottage is large and beautifully decorated throughout. It was comfortable for 8 of us from two families, with enough bathrooms and plenty of space. Property was not dog friendly as advertised, sheep escaped from the field next to the property into the garden every day. Cleaning: Cobwebs everywhere, food debris under cabinet by stairs, standard was raised by previous visitors who left a note for the cleaner. Downstairs en suite shower not usable as water lukewarm, reported not fixed. Kitchen liRead moreght bulb out, reported not fixed. Dishwasher not working on arrival, zero salt in machine, we purchased and replenished, this is poor maintenance. Bare aerial wire behind tv, several other wires not connected. I do not believe this property should be advertised as Luxury, we have stayed in much better and cheaper properties that were finished to a much higher standard, and spotlessly clean. Hide

This property was stunning and everything was top class, every appliance, all the furniture and the bathrooms. We loved it and the location. It was absolutely brilliant to be able to park up and not use the car again until we left. The walks from the doorstep were absolutely wonderful and the village is gorgeous.

The Old Dairy was a well appointed property in a great location. Many different beautiful walks from the doorstep. Every amenity in the village so the car never moved all week. There was plenty of room for three couples to enjoy their own space and come together for meals or relax in the comfortable lounge.

The Old Dairy is a lovely property with exceptional standards of furnishing and so well equipped. We had a great stay there and it is perfect for 2 families of 4. If we are being very picky (but hopefully useful feedback) as it is targetting high end it would be good to have a wine decanter, ice cream scoop and coffee machine. Some windows don't opRead moreen and the back door lock (in the bedroom) is very tricky. Providing bin bags would also be good. Mirrors above each sink in the bathrooms were noticeably absent.
