If you’re looking to book a group holiday in the Yorkshire Dales, consider this spacious five-bedroom accommodation in the pretty village of Muker. Locally you can visit shops, a tea room, an art gallery and a traditional country pub. You’ll be well placed for long walks along the River Swale (0.5 miles) and hiking and cycling across the national park’s northern dales.

You’ll enter the property into a hallway that’s great for keeping coats and muddy boots. There’s one bedroom on this floor which, like the others, is themed. Head up to the first floor and you’ll find one more bedroom, then up another flight of stairs to the main living area. This open-plan space is the hub of the house – it’s got a well-equipped kitchen as well as a solid oak dining table and chairs for everyone to enjoy food together. There’s also comfy sofa space for everyone, plus a Smart TV and equipment for listening to music. Another flight of stairs leads you back down to the first floor where you’ll find two more bedrooms plus the main bathroom. From here, you can reach the final ground-floor bedroom.

The small patio at the rear of the property overlooks the village green. This area is ideal for enjoying morning coffee in the fresh air.

Lovely cottage and would definitely stay again. Lots of steep stairs, so not suitable for those with mobility issues. But a great space for family and friends groups, especially the open plan kitchen/dining/seating area on the second floor. Fantastic views across the valley.
