This delightful cottage with accommodation over three floors with winding stairs,  is situated in a peaceful location yet close to amenities within the bustling village of Braunton, and is the ideal location for a tranquil and relaxing holiday for a family or group of friends. Braunton is full of independent shops, cafes, restaurants, and delis; the fantastic surfing beaches of Saunton, Croyde, and Woolacombe are all within a 6-mile drive. The 30-mile Tarka Trail can be also accessed from the village offering scenic routes to be explored on foot or by bike.

This lovely property is decorated to the highest of standards throughout and is full of period charm and quirky features, making it a truly memorable place to stay. Guests will enter the property into a tiled hallway with wood-panelled walls leading to a cosy lounge with exposed beams and stone walls and a wood burner effect gas fire. The cottage-style kitchen/diner has an open fireplace, lovely pine dining table and doors to the courtyard garden. It offers a delightful space for groups to dine together. The ground floor is also home to a utility room and cloakroom with WC. Stairs lead to the first floor which features a king-size bedroom with stripped original floorboards, a lovely high ceiling, and a feature Victorian fireplace. There is a twin bedroom overlooking the garden, a well-proportioned double bedroom and a family bathroom. Steep steps lead to the second floor, where you’ll find a double room in the eaves of the house, which features a skylight and views across to Braunton Burrows. This room also has an en-suite shower room.

At the rear of the property is a terraced garden across three levels with steep stairs not ideal for elderly people or small toddlers unsupervised. Below is an enclosed courtyard which serves as a suntrap and has a bistro table and chairs. Steps lead to the middle terrace, then steep stone steps will take you to the deck which has outdoor dining furniture and offers views over the village and beyond. There is also a hose and hanging rail for wetsuits and a shed for surfboard and bike storage.

A cosy cottage with everything you'd need - I can imagine that it would be a great place to stay in any season. The sun deck is particularly sunny late afternoon for tea or drinks so we enjoyed that enormously. It also has 3 bathrooms which was very helpful to our group. A characterful house with nice decor, pictures and detail giving it a seaside feel. Great top deck for evening sun. In the attractive older part of the village with footpaths out to the countryside hills with great views.

Great location in an old part of town. You can't park near to the house but we could easily 5 minutes walk away. Kitchen has everything you need. Beds extremely comfortable, we all slept well.

The house was lovely and the location was great. We enjoyed our stay. However, when we arrived the fridge was switched off and smelt absolutely foul and we had to wash the whole fridge. The same for the washing machine - it smelt really awful so we ran it empty. The washing machine didnt clean well and we had to hand wash most things again afterwarRead moreds. Id be very grateful if we could have the cleaning fees refunded. The only other thing was that it might be useful to have a little warning on the website that the house is not appropriate for people with mobility issues, as we had my 90 year old grandpa with us and he struggled a lot with the stairs. The property was very nice - just a few thoughts. On the plus side, we had a lovely stay and enjoyed our time in the property. So the comments below are not intended to suggest that we didn't enjoy ourselves. All but one of the beds was very comfortable and the showers were good. Very handy to have a ground floor bathroom with shower. But, it was vRead moreery hard to find as sat nav took you to the wrong place. Also, there are no photographs of the front of the property on the website. Not only did this make it hard to find but also obscured the fact that the property is directly on the road so quite noisy at times. There weren't enough kitchen chairs for all of the occupants to sit at the kitchen table nor really enough space in the living room for all 7 of us to sit comfortably. No shampoo in the bathrooms. There were DVDs but no DVD player. Could use a few more bowls in the kitchen. There was a lot of noise heard through the wall of the adjoining property which made it difficult for some of us to sleep. We had brought a jigsaw puzzle with us but there was nowhere to place it. The house needs some work, the kitchen is very dated with a loose plinth on the dishwasher and stains in the cupboards. The showers have curtains rather than screens, these restrict space in the shower as they cling to you when the shower is running. They are also less clean than screens. Cottage was ideally positioned for our walking holiday. The gas fires heated the house up very quickly. Beds were very comfy. Lots of hot water. However - website didn't make it clear that there is nowhere to even unload a car close to the front door as the front door is on a busy single track road.

The cottage was furnished to a good standard and equipment was good. The fact that we couldn't park outside the property to unload wasn't that clear on initial details.
