These neighbouring 19th-century brick-and-flint cottages, thoughtfully restored to combine striking traditional architecture with home-from-home comforts, are located in the centre of the Georgian market town of Holt. Explore the pretty town, which boasts an appealing variety of independent shops, galleries and restaurants, both lining the high street and hidden in courtyards and alleyways. The popular seaside town of Cromer, with its large beach, colourful beach huts and traditional pier (why not try and catch a Cromer crab?), is just 10 miles away, and don’t miss a nostalgic ride on the steam train of the Poppy Line, which whisks you from Holt through 5.5 miles of stunning coastal scenery to the smart Victorian resort of Sheringham. All in all, it is an ideal base for a large family or group of friends to enjoy a special break.

Old meets new in this unique property, which comprises two adjacent cottages, each with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Originally built as the meeting hall for the Society of Oddfellows, a modern renovation has opened up the ceilings to reveal their dramatic original structures, creating double-height spaces and allowing plenty of natural light into the open-plan living/dining areas, which are decorated in sleek, contemporary style. Both cottages have a utility room on the ground floor, and a kitchen and living/dining room on the first floor. On the ground floor of the first property are two super-king-size bedrooms with en-suite facilities (one with a waterfall shower; the other with a bath and shower), and on its first floor is a twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Meanwhile, the second property has all three bedrooms on its ground floor: a super-king-size with an en-suite shower room, a double with en-suite bathroom with a shower, and a double plus a separate bathroom with shower over the bath. It's also worth noting a surprise special feature: in each living area is a spiral staircase that leads to a comfortable mezzanine seating area above – which, in the second property features a football table, where everyone can get together to enjoy convivial games nights and make long-lasting memories.
