Escape to the rural Welsh countryside with friends or family and enjoy dramatic views of rocky mountains and the meandering Afon Cywarch from this luxurious, recently renovated barn conversion in the peaceful Cwm Cywarch Valley. Located in Snowdonia National Park within close proximity to the route up to Aran Fawddwy, the highest mountain in Southern Snowdonia, this idyllic holiday home is the perfect haven for walking enthusiasts of all capabilities. There are several fantastic woodland trails for both walkers and mountain bikers, as well as scenic driving routes to Bwlch y Groes, Wales' highest road pass. The nearby village of Dinas Mawddwy (3 miles) is home to a popular craft centre and cafe, a garden centre, two pubs, and plays host to the annual Red Bull Hardline mountain biking competition in September. Known as the Ancient Capital of Wales, the pretty market town of Machynlleth is 16 miles away and offers a great selection of unique stores, local restaurants and pubs, as well as the oldest street market in Britain held every Wednesday. Visit the MOMA Machynlleth, an intimate modern art museum set within a Victorian townhouse or take a day course at The Centre for Alternative Technology (a further 2 miles) to learn about sustainable technologies and try your hand at environmentally orientated skills.

This is a home full of charm and character, offering comfort and luxury amongst the wilds of this inspiring location. Entering the property, you are met by a light, bright, open-plan kitchen/living area complete with striking vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, a breakfast bar, comfortable seating and a roaring wood burner. The kitchen is contemporary and precise, with dark units complimenting the white tile splashback and comes fully equipped with everything a chef could need. The welcoming bedrooms are spread across two floors, with the ground floor double bedroom boasting a lovely en-suite shower room. Also on the ground floor is an attractive double room, a handy utility room and a stylish family bathroom. Upstairs, tucked under the sloping eaves, an inviting king-size bedroom and a cosy twin room await.

Outside, guests can cook up a storm on the charcoal BBQ after a relaxing soak in the private hot tub with the surrounding landscape making for an impressive backdrop to the large lawn. The added bonus of a swing set, slide and area to play football will keep children entertained for hours.

We had a family break including 3 children under the age 5 who loved the garden space and the property felt very safe for them to play there. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners and the property was immaculate. The beautiful, secluded, quiet location; friendliness of hosts; the high standard of the property (tasteful decor, good cleanliness, great equipment, comfortable beds, plenty of towels); plus the added bonus of a hot tub with such stunning, dramatic mountain views is why we have given the hosts top scores. A superb place for a multi- generation faRead moremily holiday. Amazing walks on the doorstep, Having an electrical point to charge our car made life so much easier too, especially as there are so few to be had in the area. Room to park 3 cars and a large camper van easily. The only reason we went down to a 4 in 'value for money' is that in wet weather (this is Wales!) there was no outside tap to clean muddy walking boots or place to hang wet outdoor gear... a shed would do!
