Choose this spacious base for your group or family holiday to Polruan, south-east Cornwall, which stands on the River Fowey’s east bank – but be prepared to never want to leave your luxurious abode. If you can drag yourself away from the stylish chill-out spaces and deluxe features like the views and the hot tub, get ready to explore the surrounding scenic landscape, from the beach (1 mile) to the South West Coast Path, a national trail. Further Cornwall adventures are yours as you can ride the foot ferry from Polruan Quay (under 0.5 miles) to the picturesque port town of Fowey to treat yourself to meals out in waterfront restaurants serving local cuisine.

The reverse-level house is designed to enhance the panoramic bay views that it’s blessed with. Go up the long driveway bordered by plants and enter the luxury house’s ground floor to find twin bedrooms and a super-king-size bedroom. Both rooms feature a Smart TV; the super-king also boasts views of Fowey. The ground floor also has a utility room with a washer/dryer and a shower room. Take the stairs to the first floor which features another super-king-size bedroom with a Smart TV. Choose this room and you’ll wake to panoramic sea views. You’ll be even more impressed by the other super-king-size, en-suite bedroom where floor-to-ceiling, wall-wide patio doors at the end of the bed offer direct access to the outdoor decking plus vast sea views to enjoy from the comfort of your bed. There’s also another bathroom on this floor. Families and groups can make lasting holiday memories in the open-plan living area featuring a kitchen and roomy dining set for collective dinners. The kitchen is chic with bold coloured furnishings plus an ice dispenser and wine cooler to accommodate fun nights in. Stylish decor continues in the lounge: fire up the wood burner in its rustic fireplace and take your place on one of the many leather seats. Entertainment comes easy thanks to the Bluetooth speaker and 65-inch Smart TV. Bi-fold doors, offering further coastal views from your seat, lead out to the decking.

If you’re a fan of al fresco living, you’re in luck. Find ultimate relaxation on the outdoor decking, located at the rear of the property, featuring uninterrupted sea vistas towards the Fowey estuary and dining furniture so you can enjoy your meals alfresco. There are more places to chill with a bench and sunshine-ready sunbeds. Pamper yourself with a soak in the deck’s hot tub (accessed via steps). It has seven seats so groups and families can indulge while enjoying a sea view. Children should always be supervised around the hot tub and clifftop area. At the front of the property, you’ll find even more space for outdoor relaxation in the large, open garden. Several steps lead down to the lawn, between the raised plant beds.

The property is excellent for sea views and if you like walking. It is very well equipped and was very clean. The only drawback is it is probably the most remote place I have ever stayed. All roads out are single track and require you to circumvent the headland. There is a ferry to Fowey but at 5.60 return it gets very expensive for a family ofRead more 5. But if you are the outdoors type the walks along the cliffside to Lantic Bay are beautiful. Hide

I felt the property just missed being that something special. House felt cold and soulless. Little simple comforts missing that we have always had with other Cornish homes. Throws on the setee for cold evenings, rug by the fire with a basket of wood ready. Chair in the bedroom to put your clothes on instead of the floor. No mirror near a plug to drRead morey your hair in the main bedroom. Impossible small shower with no escape from the water. No scones waiting after a long journey! Too much emphasis on supplying every utensil known, missing the touches that bring you back. Hide
