For an extra-special group trip to gorgeous Northumberland, stay at this wow-factor country house set within 0.75 acres of private land. You’ll be in the pretty hamlet of Spindlestone, part of the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The magnificent Bamburgh Castle is 3.5 miles away, and there is a picturesque golf course nearby (4 miles) where you can enjoy a round or two. If you fancy a watery day out, head along the coast to Seahouses (5.5 miles); from here you can take a boat to the stunning Farne Islands, which are well-known for their puffins and grey seals.
This property is decorated to an extraordinarily high standard, with careful attention to detail throughout – intricate wallpaper, pretty floral curtains and tasteful artwork for starters. The cosy living room has dual-aspect windows and two leather Chesterfield-style sofas where you can lounge as you absorb the heat from the open fire. There’s also a TV with Netflix for catching up with your favourite series. In the impressive dining area/day room, two impressive chandeliers hang on either side of a lovely dark-wood table with six chairs. Here, too, dual-aspect windows let in plenty of light. The well-equipped and spacious kitchen has gorgeous teal-coloured units and everything you need for preparing delicious group meals. There’s also a convenient downstairs WC. Head up to the first floor and you’ll find the five gorgeously decorated bedrooms, all with their own special charm. One has an impressive four-poster bed, a traditional-style dressing table and an en-suite shower room with WC. You’ll also find a double and a single room, plus two twin rooms. Look out for cosy details like curtain valances and antique lamps that contribute to the luxurious feel. The family bathroom, also on this floor, has a striking black and white colour scheme, a sash window and a traditional style reminiscent of Victorian properties.
The extravagance continues outside, where there’s an indulgent hot tub for relaxing after a busy day of exploring. You’ll also have access to a patio with garden furniture and a grassy lawn. The garage has been turned into a games room, shared with the adjacent property, which has a striking vaulted ceiling propped up by wooden beams. Here, you’ll find sofas, a pool table, table tennis and dart board, as well as a second fridge.
Visitors should be aware that the owners are currently building 2 new stone cottages in the garden and everything possible is being done to minimise disturbance.
