This enchanting, detached bungalow is ideal for a large family or group of friends to enjoy a relaxing holiday in Northumberland. It is set in a peaceful location around 1.0 miles from the seaside village of Bamburgh. The town is famous for its impressive castle with its imposing position looking out to sea. It also has a wide sandy beach for strolling along and a good range of shops, local pubs and restaurants. Heading south along the coast, visitors will come to the charming fishing village of Seahouses 3.5 miles away. The village has a working harbour where you can watch the fishing fleet come in or hop aboard a sightseeing tour to the Farne Islands. These waters and rocky islands welcome all sorts of marine wildlife, including seals, dolphins and characterful puffins.

The holiday home is laid out all on one level and sits within a substantial plot. The rooms lead off of an entrance hall into a large open-plan living area where the whole group can relax and unwind. The open-plan kitchen, sitting and dining room is a lovely sociable space to spend time in. To one end comfortable seating is gathered by a large window lets in plenty of natural light. To the other end is a charming table where the whole group can gather for meals. The kitchen is ample and well-equipped with modern cooking appliances perfect for cooking up any meal. In addition, there is a fantastic orangery with plush sofas that are perfect for lying back on with a good book, and sliding bi-fold doors with views of the Cheviots. The 2nd lounge features a vaulted ceiling and an impressive peaked window with wonderful countryside views (accessed via 4 steps). This room is a perfect choice for socializing with lots of seating as well as a small wood burner. The four guest bedrooms are two doubles, twin singles (zip-and-link) and a single, all equipped with TVs. The master bedroom features an en-suite bathroom with a separate walk-in shower and bath. The twin singles can be combined into a super-king. There are two beautiful, additional family shower rooms and a separate WC.

Outside guests will find a lovely, garden fully enclosed with a low stonewall and various flowerbeds and shrubs. The garden is private and peaceful and is a wonderful feature of the home offering far-reaching countryside views. With a lovely mix of paved and lawn, there’s plenty of space for play and picnics and an array of outdoor seating offers lots of opportunities for relaxing in the open air. The cottage is immaculate. Well designed and spacious. Well furnished throughout. Plenty of room for large families to get together. We'll stocked up with glasses, pots, crockery and cutlery . A delight to come back to after a busy day out.

Cottage was very well laid out and useful for a large family gathering. The two seperate lounge areas gave us options on TV watching which proved useful. The area around the cottage was quiet and calming (apart from odd donkey braying!). Facilities were adequate for our needs but could be updated/ improved in some areas. A welcome pack would have bRead moreeen expected and appreciated given the general high standard of the property. Access to Bamburgh was via a one and half mile walk through fields and a short section of road. Access to the Coastal Path was also relatively easy. We'll positioned for walks and visits to Bamburgh and the local area. Hide

The cottage was lovely and peaceful (except for one of the neighbouring donkeys which brayed loudly at all hours of the day and night). The outside space was marvellous and great for the dogs. Main living area was very comfortable. Bedrooms were a good size. Plenty of crockery/glassware/pans etc. Very convenient for the lovely beach nearby and lotsRead more to see in the surrounding area. Only real negative is that the ensuite and shower rooms should be updated. Hide

Overall very comfortable accommodation, a few small details would have been nice like a welcome pack, some local information, deeper bowls for cereal etc but otherwise excellent lay out and space for larger groups. There are donkeys next door that were braying loudly even during the night which was unfortunate but if you are only there for a week iRead moret's manageable! Hide

We loved the house, everyone said how comfortable the beds were and we think we had brand new sheets and bedding which was lovely. Really clean. Had everything we needed. We would love to come back. Stayed with family and friends and they all had a great time.

Dukesfield Cottage is a wonderful peaceful haven with everything you need for a comfortable home away from home holiday. All the rooms are comfortable with wonderful views from the back of the property. With Bamburgh a 15-20minute walk away across the fields or 5 minutes by car the location was perfect for our multi generational holiday.

Hi there the cottage was excellent, the only issue we had that on the Friday we arrived we had 5 power cuts not sure why, which didn't help with a 9 month old baby.

The timings for entry and exit from the cottages is unreasonable, too late and too early respectively. By the time you are in the cottage and unpacked the first day is lost, so effectively only 9days but paying for 10.
