Known as the gateway to the Broads, you could even charter a boat and take to the waterways to explore the Norfolk/Suffolk border from a new perspective.

Elegant, modern and finished with beautiful features, this stunning accommodation comprises two separate cottages with an adjoining door to allow guests to mix. High vaulted ceilings, French doors and bright lighting set the scene from the moment you step inside this contemporary retreat, choosing from two open-plan living spaces. Boasting a wood burner apiece alongside a fully-equipped kitchen and dining spaces, they are perfect for cosy evenings snuggled up watching TV and tucking into your favourite comfort food. Gather as a group and dine at the table that seats 12, or embrace some quiet time and break into smaller groups, selecting the second dining space that has seating for six. There are seven bedrooms in total, all thoughtfully styled. Five of the bedrooms have flexible sleeping arrangements to suit your party, depending on whether you’d like the zip-and-link beds set up as kings or twin set. As a bonus, all of the bedrooms have their own stylish en-suites.

Throw open the doors and step outside to dine alfresco, firing up the BBQ and settling down at the garden furniture to toast each other. The friendly owners are happy to have you help collect eggs on the farm, and after breakfast, you’ll have three circular walks to choose from for a stroll.

Lovely quiet location. We were a party of 14 adults and found the property well equipped and spacious. we didn't have occasion to use the outside space as we were at the Hen House in October. I like a firm bed but found the beds a little hard, they would benefit from a mattress topper.

Absolutely fabulous accommodation, clean well equipped and with 7 en suite bedrooms perfect for a large group. The outside space, BBQ and games equipment was amazing for enjoying outside on a summer evening. Would definitely return.

The Hen House was everything we knew we needed and even more! Hosts were lovely and friendly and were quick to respond to any queries. There was loads of space so we didnt all feel like we were on top of each other. It was secure for the children to run around and not worry about where they were and also secure for our lab. In fact, he hardly stayeRead mored indoors as he loved chilling in the garden the whole time. A peaceful location and close to Beccles. Wed love to visit again! Hide

The accommodation was well equipped and very comfortable.As a large family group the 7 en-suite bedrooms offered flexibility for double or twin beds.There was enough crockery, cooking utensils and a washer dryer and dishwasher so this provided us with a good labour saving break. The children took advantage of the indoor and outdoor equipment and haRead mored a lot of fun spending time together. We loved the peace and quiet. The Hen House was the perfect place for our large family gathering, all rooms ensuite and having both properties, ample food preparation and enjoyment spaces. The owners have thought of everything from cooking equipment, crockery, cutlery, there's even a slow cooker in each kitchen! Being on a working farm was brilliant for the kids with all the anRead moreimals and there are plenty of outdoors play equipment provided. It is a 10 minute drive to Beccles or any local pub but that didn't bother us as we stayed at the property and enjoyed all the walks available on our doorstep. The tvs were a bit hit too with plenty of apps installed to enjoy movie nights. The WiFi was strong and available at all times and the instruction manuals provided everything you needed to know about the property and local area. Can't fault the owners, they are brilliant, what a place, highly recommend and we will be back!! Hide

I booked The Hen House for (aptly) a hen weekend for one of my best friends. There were 12 of us and I was finding it difficult to find somewhere large enough but in budget and we wanted somewhere that had quite a lucury feel. This place ticked EVERY box and it didn;t disappoint on arrival. It was lovely to arrive to fresh cake and eggs from the owRead moreners, and the house is furnished so well with lots of spce to move around while having plenty of social areas for lots of people to gather together. The large dining table was perfect for our Saturday evening dinner and the kitchens were very well equipped. It was great that it's able to be split into 2 separate sides, but we had the whole place so we had 2 lounges and 2 kitchens - brilliant for when we hired in a chaf to cook for us as he had the entire use of one kitchen while we used the other for cocktail making etc. We also had lots of outside space which was lovely, and the neighbouring sheep and chickens were so lovely to watch running around next to the house. It was such a lovely place and we had the perfect stay - would definitely reccommend to people I know if they were looking to visit the area. Hide

Excellent accommodation, done out to a very high standard, with 10/10 for cleanliness. An excellent weekend away with all the family together. The only fault found was the amount of flys but suppose this comes with the chickens and sheep so close, although credit given as fly squats and sprays are provided with the accommodation, happy to say thiRead mores did not spoil the weekend and would happily return. The property was excellent for the four families staying. The only problem was the number of flies due to the hot weather. We had fly spray supplied but with food and children around could not always use it.

An excellent holiday property with everything you need. On a working farm we used Beccles for shopping, the coast at Southwold, Alde urgh and Lowestoft for beach trips and walked to lovely local pubs. Really comfortable for our family group of 14 and 3 generations. We loved the farm shop right next door for BBQ meats and charcoal.
