This outstanding property sleeps eight guests and is perfect for families or a group of friends to share a holiday or meet for a gathering in exceptionally beautiful surroundings. The house stands in an elevated location, within easy reach of Abersoch’s lively village centre (0.5 miles), with its shops, pubs and restaurants. Renowned for its family-friendly golden beach, Abersoch is also a hub for water sports such as windsurfing, paddleboarding and sailing in the calmer waters of Cardigan Bay. Qualified trainers run classes on the beach during the summer and village water sports shop also offers professional guidance. Take a boat trip to the St Tudwal’s Islands, just offshore from Abersoch. You may spot seals and dolphins and nesting seabirds such as puffins and buzzards in this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Llyn coastal footpath offers beautiful coastal views and wonderful walking along the route once followed by pilgrims to Bardsey Island. Further afield, stock up on fresh local produce at the colourful weekly market in the town of Pwllheli (6 miles).

Well cared for pieces of antique and period furniture, beautifully faded rugs, vintage china and pictures throughout the house combine to create a tranquil, welcoming atmosphere inside this light-filled holiday home. A pretty entrance foyer has a terracotta tiled floor, ideal for muddy boots, with hanging space for clothes, an antique sideboard and the door to a cloakroom with a WC. An elegant hall with a high, arched ceiling and beautiful antique bookcase leads to the impressive living and dining rooms. These both have huge floor-to-ceiling bay windows looking out to a lovely, terraced garden and magnificent coastal views. More light shines in through quirky porthole windows in both rooms. The living room has two large and comfortable sofas on either side of the deep bay where you can relax and enjoy the scenic panorama. A pair of cosy armchairs sits on either side of the wood burner, housed in a fine period fireplace, and the antique furniture includes a pretty console table. In the dining room, which commands the same glorious view, and houses a small TV, enjoy a formal meal at the antique table using beautiful china and glassware from a well-stocked tallboy. This impressive room with ceiling beams and a fine wooden ornamental fireplace has several beautiful antique items, including a grandfather clock and a remarkable sideboard. To the front of the house, a small suntrap conservatory with wicker chairs has doors opening to the front terrace. At the rear, a large, country-style kitchen has a terracotta tiled floor and a breakfast table with eight chairs.A splendid staircase leads to four elegant bedrooms, all with beautiful sea views from dual aspect windows, and furnished with antiques. To the front, a master bedroom overlooking Cardigan Bay has a sumptuous French-style super-king-size bed. Delightful artworks, an antique chest of drawers, an armchair and a small TV make this room a peaceful haven. A king-size bedroom, also to the front shares the same beautiful outlook. To the rear are two further bedrooms, both with hand basins. A double bedroom has sea views over Warren Beach to Llanbedrog headland, while a single with a pull-out bed beneath looks out at the lovely garden and Abersoch’s inner harbour. There are two Edwardian-style family bathrooms with a shower over the bath.

Outside, there are extensive, beautifully maintained grounds, with lawns, mature trees, flowering shrubs, terraced steps and paths to explore. The superb front terrace has pretty chairs, benches and tables. It is the perfect spot to relax, enjoy an outdoor meal and plan tomorrow’s adventure while drinking in the unforgettable view.

Main reason for not giving all top scores is the checking in and out times. 5 pm check in time and 9 am check out time can not be justified for cleaning time. Covid is not an issue anymore and holiday clients have lost half a day from their holiday week. 9 am check out time puts a lot of pressure on families to empty their belongings and leave the Read morehouse as they found it.This seams unfair blaming it on safety.
