At Berwick-upon-Tweed to the north (22 miles) you can have a day out enjoying retail therapy, plenty of cafes and eateries, and an invigorating walk on the Elizabethan defence walls, or catch a performance at the Maltings. Golf enthusiasts are spoilt for choice, with approximately eight scenic courses in a 20-mile radius. You could also take advantage of the discount afforded to visitors at this property by booking a boat trip to the Farne Islands. These islands are steeped in history of hermit monks and rich in local wildlife, including dolphins and puffins.
This property really has the wow factor. The living space, comprising kitchen, dining and lounge areas, is open-plan and tastefully decorated with neutral, warm tones; exposed beams added to the mix create a blend of traditional, rustic and contemporary elements. The bedrooms and bathrooms are also on ground level, split over two wings: two bedrooms are in the west wing; one of them has a stylish en-suite shower room, while the other has en-suite access to the Jack and Jill family bathroom. In the south wing are two more bedrooms, one with an elegant en-suite shower room. The bedrooms are comfortable and un-crowded. The gardens are enclosed and include sloping lawns, as well as pretty coastal rock-lined beds. The views are stunning from this vantage point and there’s plenty of furniture for everyone to sit and enjoy them.
